Hi everyone,

Just recently got a DE MWS noveske n4, just had a few questions about it which i was hoping i could get some info on.

In terms of the bolt i feel its quite sluggish, was wondering if there were any upgrades i could do to the recoil spring and buffer? Cant really seem to find any parts online, is the n4 compatible with most MWS recoil parts, if so which would you guys recommend?

In terms of maintenance, how often would you recommend to maintain the platform (oil and clean)? After every skirmish or every other skirmish?

Quite new to GBBRs so any and all help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

It's definitely worth checking if you need to put a tiny bit of lube on the edges of your BCG. If you take it out of the receiver, do you see any lines where there could have been direct metal on metal contact?

Which mag are you using with your N4? The original "D-Mag" by Double Eagle is a bit poo in terms of its gas feeding into the nozzle. The revision improved matters as there was more space for the gas to flow through.

Which gas are you using?

It's really best to troubleshoot the problems to narrow down the cause before of throwing money at them hoping they'd solve something. There may be a deeper lying or completely unrelated problem where a recoil spring and buffer are "upgrades" that aren't solutions.

I apply new lube on my N4's BCG every 3-5 skirmishes and clean the inner barrel every game. If I played in a very dusty or smoky area I may clean and relube the BCG after that game.

Hiya pal

For me when I got my N4 as per the gents above lube swapped the BCG weight with a copper bavtac one changed the recoil spring to a Waldo 140% and the buffer guide/weight to a guarder heavier one both from firesupport

If you want faster cycling to prevent the sluggish response maybe just change spring to above ? Maybe consider short stroking the buffer tube but this may affect bolt lock ?

Not saying any of this is right but it’s what I did to mine and it worked 👍

Thanks

Hey man, thanks for the reply!

Running just the stock DE mag atm, would like the HPA it using the airtac kit tho. Currently just tested it out on Nulpro 2.Zero green gas. I’ll check it out for wear and tear on the bolt suspect there may be some of that going on tbh.

The rest of the points are valid, check for lube. I re-lube at minimum every 2 game days, but generally I lube after every game because I just enjoy the process, and it dosen't take all that long.

But trust me, how shit the old DE mags are cannot be understated. The difference I saw between the DE mags and the TM STANAGs is night and day.

Either get a TM STANAG to try or borrow one if you can find someone willing just so see if that fixes your issue. I've also heard generally positive sentiment around the DE STANAGs but I have no personal experience with them as I got myself a full setup of the TMs before DE came out with theirs.

On the HPA stuff, I have no clue at all, sorry

As far as upgrade parts go, BCGs, recoil springs, short stroke shims (Just use 10p coins if you have those lying about) and such are drop-in. I had Some issues with an Angry gun buffer but it resolved itself and I have no clue what the issue was.
