Any Home Compressor Recommendations?

Just asking if anyone on here has anything good or bad to say about any of the small HPA/PCP compressors availible on the Bay etc?

I was always wary when these kinds of things first came out at “budget” prices, and would always push home fills towards stirrup pumps (less to go wrong).

(The only one I would endorse back then was the Tom Kaye Shoebox which was actually a booster to be used with “workshop” compressors)

General feedback these days shows that things are good at an affordable price

The primary thing is the air filter. The picture shows one fitted so assuming it is on yours then all is good

It will be interesting to have your feedback on noise, how hot it gets when running, time to fill (and time to fill practically if done in stages)
…. Also what add on fees you get on arrival at custom

Old school ones were having cases removed to reduce heat - don’t do that as the case is part of the safety !
 
It arrived really fast, well packed. It’s filling a bottle now. Been 6 minutes to get a 48ci to 2135psi. It’s got to 50 degrees C (it is 26 degrees in my garage today) so will let it cool for 10 minutes.

It’s not quiet! But for the money, and the ease of not needing to drive 45 minutes for a refill, it’s fantastic.

Edit: I hadn’t turned its fan on, because I’m an idiot. It’s cooling itself rapidly, as in less than a minute to cool down, so it’s charging again now. It does slow as it goes about 2k psi.

Edit edit: Just under 10 minutes and it’s done. Auto shut off worked. The pressure relief valve to disconnect the hose worked. It’s all perfect. Not quiet though, but not obnoxious.

Further update: it’s working very well. Filling 2x 48ci and 2x 13ci tanks takes under an hour. It doesn’t get hot. The air coming out is dry (have tested it), zero problems at all. I put silicon oil in it (a few drops) every few fills and otherwise it’s just working as you’d expect.

Have tested it in my car also, at a gaming weekend. All good. For what it cost, it’s fantastic. I have freedom to use my air without worry on evenings to dial in new rifles or scopes or test the upgrades and given it costs £3 per tank to refill it’ll pay for itself quickly. 4 tanks per weekend = 3 months to pay for itself. If I use a tank on the evening to test a rifle, that comes down.

100% worth it for me.
