    Sky's Halo airsoft projects (WIP)

Damn, wasn't sure if it was just the site not loading them. I have tested a few other photos and it has the same issue. I'll try again.  Edit: turns out it was my browser, librewolf. Works fine on Firefox.

    Sky's Halo airsoft projects (WIP)

Hello again,  Op Venezian, the UK's first dedicated Halo LARP / Airsoft event has come and gone. It was a great event, with some lovely people and fun times. It was hosted at Gunman in Eversly, so a bit of a trek for me. Luckily some Scottish ODSTs picked me up on the way down.  I'm glad to...

    Headsets

I've had a good experience (so far) with Zohan active hearing protection. They're also on ali. I picked up a basic set for £15 on sale, very impressed for the price. It's only the second time using active hearing protection, so my point of reference is perhaps lacking, but the crispness of the...

    Airsoft/Replica helmet custom liner

Vestguard has a few padding sets, though you have to factor the £8 postage in. I'd wager they'd last longer than the cheapo ones and in the case of the most expensive, can obviously offer more protection. Depends what you want to spend. You can make shims for foam sets by adding adhesive velcro...

    Sky's Halo airsoft projects (WIP)

I'd call these rather poor quality photos, but here you go regardless. Unfortunately most are done with a phone camera with the notable exception of the first one.  Paint me like one of your French Marines This was a bit rushed, so I'll probably get another set of photos with a...

    Sky's Halo airsoft projects (WIP)

Thank you lads. The helmet's a bit front heavy with the armour panel, but I've designed and printed one that's about half the weight that I need to paint up.  Bit of a shameful self plug, but I do sell the helmet on Etsy under Thunderhead Armoury.  SOEIV coming up. Parachute, a big metal...

    What have you made?

I believe the original designer of the project is Wafzig, so he'd be the one to ask. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Sky's Halo airsoft projects (WIP)

Hello again,  I've made a fair bit of progress, so I felt I should drop an update on what I've been up to.  The biggest project has been the SMG. To be seen completed (to be painted still) below, complete with functional suppressor and fairly game accurate red dot sight.  The red dot is a...

    Sky's Halo airsoft projects (WIP)

Hello again, It's been a slow few months. The moths inhabit the empty wallet, and the paint is slow to dry in the cold of late winter / early spring. I have since acquired the HPA engine (Scalar Seraph, though I've yet to acquire the tank and regulator. I've started working on the HPA...

    Sky's Halo airsoft projects (WIP)

Just a quick update on a few things. The BR-55 had its first game at the start of this month. It worked well for the whole game, though I found afterwards that the V1 Maple Leaf magazine springs I used are useless and lost most of their shape. The V2 ML springs have apparently improved on this...

    Sky's Halo airsoft projects (WIP)

Quick update, I fixed the AEP gearbox and cleaned the factory earwax grease out. I don't hold much appreciation for the engineer that designed the gearbox, as it was quite a nightmare to reassemble. With a fully charged 7.4v and barrel installed, I think it sounds rather nice for an AEP.  A...

AEG hop up unit on a Vz 61 AEP gearbox?

I think what I'll do for now is buy the body as well, (includes the fire selector which I don't understand fully how it works with this GB) then if I want I can modify it to work with an AEG hop later on if I want. It's mostly for the compatibility rather than performance with higher weight BBs...

AEG hop up unit on a Vz 61 AEP gearbox?

Due to stores not getting back to me about parts for a while, and now finding out that it'll be several weeks before I can even start the custom project I've been looking at, I've moved my focus to a new project for now. Basically looking at making a Halo M7 SMG from scratch using AEP...

Help needed with Battle Rifle project, specifically compatibility w/ GB and hop units.

Thanks for the link Samurai, that's pretty extensive. Any idea what the tolerance might be length-wise? I imagine there must be some leeway since companies can get away with selling aftermarket nozzles and hop ups.  Much appreciate the input Iceni. That's very helpful. It seems like the AUG...
