I wouldn't touch the gearbox for now. Get a better bucking, and clean the barrel before doing anything else. With a fresh hop, you'll likely find you're able to lift medium-weight ammo easily, and an in improvement in air seal will naturally give you a boost in power. You're already at 1J, so...

It's been a while since I've used them, but It looks a bit like the old maruzen L96 buckings. If so, then I doubt you're going to be able to get any replacements of a good quality. At a push, you could maybe trim the little protrusion off of a VSR bucking and see if that fits? Can't guarantee...

The Sniper mechanics Flamingo or Negative Airsoft bucking (both the same, except different colours) would be a good place to start, when it comes to options.

It's likely that the stock hop just isn't good enough to lift heavier ammo. You could try a new bucking to start with. From what I know, it takes standard AEG buckings. I don't know how effective the stock hop unit is, but AirsoftPro make an aftermarket one...

Unfortunately, the G&P ones are designed for the Marui style M14s, I don't know how feasible it'd be to fit one to a G&G version.

Depends on the time of year & weather, but 'd go probably less than that Tbh. On green gas most of my maruis have been 290ish fps; so 0.8 or under. On 144, I'd have thought closer to 250ish, or around 0.6J.

The standard hop unit is AEG though, no? You have to specifically buy the VSR/GBB hop unit to use anything else. Pictures below: 1-3 are the stock hop units & barrel, with #4 being the GBB/VSR style hop unit.
