Cringe in Airsoft

Unthemed, often unpainted, missing what we thought was the spirit of the game in exchange for ending said game ASAP with a win. For a lot of us, who won actually didn't matter, it was the dumb stories it generated like my Company Commander fighting a Chaos Lord in close combat all game, inflicting exactly one wound a turn while making every save. Against all odds, he won, and then was gunned down for his insolence. (My friend later gifted me a painted Lord helmet to glue to his base to commemorate that game haha).

I think it's similar in Airsoft where you have very different ways of playing and objectives that players are seeking. I approach it in the same way I did 40K: I don't care who wins, I'm just having fun with friends and making some silly stories.

I don't think my Imperial Guard ever won a game but by god sir they gave a good account of themselves against a foe no matter what. My command squad was cursed with such bad rolls I decided it was a representation of a high level of command incompetence.

Appreciate it's a bit of a necro, but I personally do this because I'm a crown servant and I don't anticipate my employer being particularly pleased about posting my airsoft stuff, but I still like posting it because I'm proud of my clobber

You should see my gear it's all Mish mash lol I have a od green pistol pouch velcroed to my black cross draw vest. Black dpm t-shirt and camo zero one Airsoft trousers , with my ww1 helmet and dye mask (don't like getting shot in the face lol) I'm not assed about all matching and everything I have what I have lol

and it works

Nothing wrong with miss matching bits. Past few games I've done I haven't even bothered with camo at all and just worn cargo trousers and t-shirt with a Norwegian pull over for the colder games.

Agreed, everything I have is because it’s comfy and affordable, I don’t care what anyone thinks, although I have just discovered Swedish camo and I love it.

If you like the standard M90 pattern you should also check out the M90K, the desert type used in Afghanistan. It’s really nice..

I like the M65, especially with the removable inner fleece as it’s bloody cold at the moment.

Yeah I've never been into the milsim thing just like having fun tempted to make my own custom armour based off a samurai

but I have a feeling that's to weeby lol

I wouldn't because I have not seen it; the creature that I refer to as "the Lad" is 23 and his brother is 25, which seems to have happened ridiculously quickly.

I was wanting to know what do others in here find most cringe worthy in Airsoft as I'm finding I have a few that I find worthy.

First for me is probably people who play as if they are someone in the real SF and post online pictures of them playing but allways blank out or blur their faces. Just don't get the reasoning behind it unless your embarrassed to admit you play Airsoft, even worse are the ones who go further and on game days will hang around all day with their face covered and not interact much with others, it's like come on man we are all here to have fun at least join in on the fun and socialise.

I’ve been away from Airsoft for probably around 18 months or so the last game day I went to I was watching few groups of lads and they must of been watching too much of the SWAT tv shows etc. they were shouting over too each other give me two give two before entering a building or room and I was just say there having 5 minutes out of the way watching and thinking to myself no wonder people take the mick out of Airsofters. Others all had code names and ranks etc It was that game day I decided to take a break just observing these lads doing that I was embarrassed for them.

You've just reminded me of something from other week where two lads in there 20's and they where talking about kill Streaks. Don't get me wrong if they like counting and trying to beat a personal best fair play to them. Just don't discuss it like it's a COD death match.
