Will a mad bull mk18 rail fit a cm16? Are they otherwise universal in terms of barrel etc

Are you sure? I think it is. I have seen videos where they remove it

I'm pretty sure the front sight post is removable, all you have to do is remove two or three pins.

yep the two pins are removable, just checked

Nope, not on mine, it's moulded into the barrel, Maybe they have changed them recently?
