LCT AK grips

The only thing I don't like about the LCT AKs is the grips, which feel cheap and not very secure. I will check to see if they just need need tightening.

When removing and changing a grip is it necessary to do anything else first, or can they just be unscrewed and replaced?

Can anyone recommend better grips than the standard factory ones? Are the bakelite grips stronger?

For my carbine with rails I would like something like this:

I assume the SAW grips will fit all the LCT AKs.

When removing and changing an AK grip it may be necessary to do some checking fitment and possibly some fettling depending on the model but most of the time if it lct brand going on and lct ak then there should be no problems. 

Are the bakelite grips stronger?

There are no real bakelite grips that will fit on an AEG AK they are what most people call fakelite which give an impression of bakelite but they are not any stronger they just represent the period when ak manufacture switch from wood pistol grips to bakelite.

You could try a  pk-3 pistol grip.

I like the look of those Lozart.

I believe there are two types of AK aegs: those based on the TM and those based on the VFC. The LCT falls into the latter group, and so grips designed for the TM type, like the King's Arms probably won't fit.

But the US Palm do, according to Dave's Custom Airsoft.

What is the SAW grip from LCT like? Anyone know?

The grip on one of the guns needed tightening and it feels a lot better now that I have done that.

What amazes me however is that LCT have used a plastic screw to connect it.?

Am I to assume that the threads it goes into are also plastic?

If not I wonder how long that screw is going to last.

Cheaper production costs, sadly.

Could be Duff,  but I don't think so. Most of the gun is steel.

I think it's more likely that the metal cage around the motor is some sort of soft zinc based alloy, and you know what steel screws can do over time to alloy threads.
