Nice smile, Moron

I used to wear a mesh mask, however, it kept (as Ed said) pushing my eye pro up to much and also rubbed the bridge of my nose.

I am now using this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006HG8GCA/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and have put a thin bit of 3mm rubber on the inside.

It means I can pull it up over my mouth and BB's just ping off but its not to think that i can pull the 'snood' down around my neck without it bunching too much due to the rubber

Works quite well - much better than mesh

Not a perfect solution, but much better than nothing, would be to cable tie a piece of heavyweight mesh to the boom of a headset mic, so it floats in front of your mouth - spray it to match a loadout - Robert's the bloke shagging your mum while your dad's in jail!

I've got some from which I could cut a piece if you want to try out Ed - I got it fairly cheap hoping that it would work for goggles but its wires are too thick.

I use a throat mic with comms (when I remember to use them) but a cracking idea and thinking outside the box :-)

Got a photo of you modelling it or anything? I can't really tell what I'm looking at.
Funny you should say that.... here's one with my mouth closed, none of the usual bulge you get with a big mouthguard in:

And here's what it looks like with my teeth 'exposed':

I've had to edit the images for persec reasons, can't have all those foreign intelligence agencies knowing my face!

hell, reducing the risk by half is worth it really, certainly the top teeth are the ones people see more often.

You ever taken a hit to that, jcheese?

yeah, few weeks back took one to the middle of it from about 20 yards, it stung like a fucker but no damage to either my teeth or the gumshield.

There was a thing on the WW2 airsoft forum where people were getting two of the white ones, one for the top the other for the bottom, both were the thinnest ones sisu make.

I've never had fogging because of the mesh half mask, normally its just coz I'm a sweaty b*d. hehe. Thinking of trying to make a set of ducting for a fan unit that would clip to my belt or the back of a helmet.

Yeah exactly like that but smaller. Like the small pc fans that paintballers use with a 9v battery just not mounted infront of my face so it doesn't interfere with listening to stuff.

For ducting what you want is anaesthetic tubing IMO - if you do this fan-on-belt project with anything, please let me know b/c i'd be very interested to see how it turns out.

I was going to give O2 line a go but either will do. If I do it it'll probably be at Christmas or Easter, the downside of being a teacher unfortunately ;) . Will let you know how it goes Ian.

My helmet is like that. The helmet makes the mask so much more comfy as it doesn't move around as much. I've also padded the mask out with 1/4" pads.
What Helmet and Mask is that? Since the Mask clips into it.

I am looking to get a lower face mask, but want it to fit nicely so a helmet would go nice with it also.

Those clips come with the helmet rail. You could modify the elastic of any mesh 1/2 face mask to fit on them - it's still a mesh mask which either fits your face as is or doesn't and needs to be bent and/or have custom pads fitted to it.

There is a type of mesh mask which is made specifically to fit onto helmet rails, shaped like the lower part of a motorcycle helmet. They don't come anywhere near your skin, so comfort is never an issue, and mic booms fit inside.

The clips come with the helmet. The mask is a simple 1 strap mask, just cut it and make it fit.

I got the mask off ebay and the helmet off amazon.

Post dentist update:

AWWW YEAAAH It didn't need a crown, it's got a covering on it at the level it is (so I now have a permanent gappy smile)

Total cost including checkup £49.00

SISU mouthguard ordered for the top, I need to remold it a little, but so far I am VERY impressed with it. proabably going to get one for my bottom teeth aswell
