Howdy!

Ive got a G&G MP5 GT.

If you want to play in woodland scenarios, just be aware about the long mags on them, which arent always best for lying prone when taking cover.

The real UMP was made as a cheaper alternative to the MP5 but they are both nice guns.

The AK Beta or RK 103 are nice too if you like that style !
Well I like the UMP and the MP5 and I've found a Tokyo Marui MP5(A5) so it's between those two really. The Tokyo Marui is a bit cheaper so that may swing it for me to be honest.

My advice is to go to a retailer and have a look.

Another member at my club has the MP5 so I saw one for real before ordering.

There is nothing like holding one to assess the weight and finish. Internet buying is great if you really are sure what you want.

Yeah I'm trying to hunt down a retailer near me but it might be a road trip involved.

Vote against sawfly's! And for mesh! I spent umpteen amounts on goggles that just kept steaming, eventually going for a pair of herosharks, and so far so good!! No steaming and you barely notice the mesh. Best snap em up though if you fancy a pair- message him on Facebook, he's packing in until further notice.

What's his name on here?

Welcome to the forums! G&G Combat Machines are great begginer guns! And a half face mask is good for protecting your teeth. Id go mesh over neoprene personally ;)

I've looked at the G&G Combat Machines and the UMP that G&G make is looking to be my choice but I will try and hold one first.
Would you recommend a brand for the mesh mask or will any do?

You could buy any decent one's, but I know HeroShark (If you can get your hands on them) are tried and trusted by alot of the Lads here on the forums ;)

Ah ok, this might be a stupid question but am I looking for normal army clothing or the waterproof versions?

Thanks for those links. Is it just a shirt and pants I need or a jacket and pants? The jackets look like they might get a bit warm.

If you're getting any camo gear, get DPM surplus stuff. You can usually find a CS'95 shirt and trousers combo for under £25 on Ebay.

As for jackets vs shirts, the jackets look a lot more military and are extremely rip/tear resistant. Being working/parade dress, the CS'95 shirts are not as tough and aren't very wind resistant.

Ultimately it's your choice, but the CS'95 jackets have a lot more pockets for magazines if you aren't going to get an assault vest/chest rig/plate carrier/webbing early on.

The jackets can be treated with a waterproofing agent called NikWax as well, so if it does rain at a skirmish you'll have a waterproof jacket which your skin can still breathe in.

I looked at the DPM stuff. So it would be wise to grab a jacket anyway and treat it. I've used the nikwax stuff on my old snowboarding gear and I think I've still got some lurking around the house.

I've worn CS95 jackets for work and even when it's bouncing it down it does take a long time to soak though, I don't know how hot it'll get if you water proof it . I've worn a t shirt under a jacket and that's been pretty warm tbh
