Im brand new to the site, I played abit of airsoft back in south africa but when it came time to get abit more serious about it i was already moving to the uk ( 2 years ago) anyways I think its about time i get back into it

I live near preston and from what i can see the closest place is This Place... I live in penwortham area so if there is somwhere closer to me please let me know

I see there are quite abit of rules but from what i can make out i have to go to 3 matches in 12 months and then register with your airsoft governing body in order to purchase my own rifle.

So any of you from preston area that go reguarly ? would like to meet some of you as I would like to go next weekend

How often do you guys play ?

Oh and any other info you can give would be appreciated Thanks!

Would like to purchase my boots camo gear etc for now and then obviously once i have my license ill get my guns etc. If you can recommend a good online retailer that would be great

To get your defence regards the VCR Act and be able to buy RIFs then the general rule for most site memberships and UKARA is 3 games in a period greater than 2 months (and generally less than a year), so if you get your games in fairly soon then you'll only be having to wait 2 months to be able to purchase realistic replicas.

In particular the BULLE kit from flecktarn and the Warrior from UK-tac are absolutely ideal for airsoft. Though I do generally advocate buying boots in a bricks n' mortar to check fitment, and decent eye-pro (ESS, revision) is the number 1 priority.

Welcome to the phenomenon of lurkers. A lot of people don't realise this, but every forum in the world has way more users simply read than those who actually post, 1:50 isn't even all that bad to be honest.

I've got a thread for my own gear/guns etc over at Airsofters.co.uk which has about 200 posts from other people in it, but it's been viewed just under 24,000 times, just to give you an idea.

Hi! Here's the best deal on boots I've seen recently. I tend to agree that trying them on before you buy is a good idea for boots, but if you know your size perhaps you can grab a bargain...

Personally I prefer the German Para Boots for comfort over the British Assault Boots, but there's not much in it.

the british jungle boots are great for hot weather and for extra comfort pop into poundland and grab a set of there memory foam insoles

Yeah, I've heard a lot of people say the Jungle Boots are very comfortable but, so far, I've never had any. Have you actually worn them? Memory Foam insoles sounds like a great idea for any boots. I'm gonna check that out ASAP! Thanks!

yeh i have owned many pairs of jungle boots, also any of the mid range upwards magnum boots are also a great choice for a light weight breathable boot

I'm happy to add my voice to the Magnum Boot Appreciation Society, but I must add that I have destroyed 2 pairs of them, whilst my 1st pair of German Para Boots lasted just over 20 years and finally died of rubber degradation, rather than the sole wearing out or uppers giving way. I confidently expect the pair I currently own to last me for the rest of my life. Flexible and breathable is good, but waterproof and solid ankle support is better in the long run, IMO. You just have to get used to wearing them...

I'm in the market for some new boots, spent over £100 on some Karimore's about 2 years ago and they're already letting on water. Really pissed me off.

Had my first match on sunday

Was awesome!

Went yesterday to get all my kit sorted out from a army surplus store ( got jungle boots like every one seems to recommend for £29)

Now just ti get my games up and get my license so i can get my M4

Magnums on eBay, Ed, but if you want waterproof and lasting, you need a military boot - Patrol Base have a good selection at the best prices I've seen recently.

Just polish 'em reasonably regularly and they'll do the trick for decades. Literally.
