Completely by coincidence I happened to see some of yesterdays Trooping the Colour, did I feel proud to be British? not particulary but I do enjoy watching the occasional bit of drill, I'm in the habit of watching Youtube while browsing social media or gaming and Trumps parade featured heavily so I'm currently watching it out the corner of my eye and thinking, Oooo Charlie might have liked a bit of military hardwear rattling about (in the middle of easily spooked horses), but what did make me feel a bit patiotic was comparing the US marching to the UK's, chalk & cheese.

Nothing says Merica like multi cam, tanks & sponsorship of a parade.

I agree there’s a ton of difference in US v UK, there’s pride in the armed forces on both sides however the yanks go about it in a different way.

The displays seen on the India/Pakistan border are something else though, it’s as much a show as it is drill but they take it seriously there, very different from that seen in any of our trooping displays.

Then there’s the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier, supreme accuracy and attention to detail.

Definitely, I feel a good 'ol' Communist block parade is needed this week.

Indeed, I'm no communist but that would be something to see again, I remember well the ‘victory day’ parades that used to appear on the news in the 80’s, hordes of infantry, ICBM’s, tanks, mass flypasts and everything in between. They certainly believed in numbers back then!

Say what you like,  Trooping of the Colours looked much better than "Trooping of the Color (Orange)" over the pond......

Despite The Humam Cheeto's best efforts to have a birthday parade for himself in true DPRK style, I did however appreciate the use of "Fortunate Son" for the march past of the poster child for the subject of that song.

To quote Gavin Newsom on Trump attending "Les Mis".......

"Can someone explain the plot to him please"

Aye, the choice of music was superb.

According to reports online (so take with a pinch of salt) alot of those taking part didn't want to be there so the poor drill was their way of protesting. However others have said that keeping step for a long time is hard enough, but when you can't hear any cadence over the music it becomes almost impossible.

I can see that, they all look a bit surly, like they can't be arsed to be there.

It's not the norm is it, a parade on the presidents birthday ?.

Not surprised though, that orange cnut & his overinflated ego.

It's definitely not the norm and was originally supposed to be to celebrate the US army's 250th birthday. Then the wotsit faced draft dodger made it all about himself.
