KWA Kriss Vector Owners Club

Evening all.  Just plumped for the Krytac Kriss. Not ashamed to say that the recent posts and gun porn on this topic helped me to make my decision.  You guys have some great looking kit. Picking it up on the 3rd March.  Wanted to ask how effective it is for both CQB (indoor) and outdoor work and the general range that people are getting from it with/without barrel extensions, etc.

Thanks

Excellent choice. I only use mine for target practice, so can’t help with range etc. Very practical gun though :)

I'm guessing the Osprey suppressor is without the 'power-up kits'...  still, not bad!

You'd be on the edge in CQB sites and depending on how the marshal feel about allowing you to be excused with that extra 5FPS in the chrono room lol
Indeed i called the mall reading as my son wants to play there but he sad no to the extra 5fps, hopefully once a few thousand round go through it may loose a little and be within the site limits as its 1hr 30mins long way to go to be told your hot B) .

you might find it's a bit hot for CQB as my krytac hit 345fps out of the box and most site hold around 330-340 fps for CQB

Hi and thanks - I will check what Fire Support and Red 1 Airsoft allow at their sites to be on the safe side.  Certainly don't want to travel and find no go on arrival.

Red 1 Airsoft is 350fps for AEG.

Urban Assault is 345 for the same.

Hoping mine new toy doesn't come in screaming!!!!

Absolutely, it’s 1.5 hours for me too, but I happen to run HPA so I can adjust my FPS and lock it on 340 HAHA

Evening one and all. Finally its the weekend.  Mine is starting with a charity quiz night tonight fuelled by wine, beer and cheese.  What could possibly go wrong lol

Just wanted to say thanks to RDG (RocketDogBert) for his guidance this week. Pestered him non stop for the past couple of days and he has been nothing but a patient font of knowledge.  Cheers fella.

That said, I do have a complaint to level at him, as he has encouraged me to part from hard earned cash today as I researched and purchased my sight options  ;)   Gone with a new UTG 3 x magnifier which came in at just over half price (bargain) and a new cheap-end reflex red/green holographic projected dot sight.  I like the combo but not sure if I might not prefer the aesthetics of a barrel sight to go with the magnifier.  We shall see.  Photos will follow in due course when all purchases turn up in the coming weeks.

Have a fun one.

You’re welcome bud, unfortunately this hobby empties your pockets.

I’ve spent this evening replacing the gear set in my daughters new(ish) TM Hi-Cycle Patriot. She likes to hose the bb’s, and stripped the pinion and spur gears :)

Seriously if you are playing CQB or even mild field set your FPS at 1j / 328 max, those extra 10-20 FPS doesn't make jack difference to range or accuracy, all your doing is limiting the amount of sites you can play at and hurt people even on 0.2s :)

I've spoken to krytac and they confirmed back that the aeg vector should be run on a 7.4v lipo, i've seen so many others running 11.1v lip's. does this not cause motor damage, i'm experiencing some mag feeding issues and was wondering if it's the mags or the 7.4 lipo .

Thanks Jake

Good point DG. So whats the best way to achieve that for us AEG users. Spring change or heavier bbs to bring it down?

Yes for an AEG a spring change is the energy source and most common method, especially if you need to drop a decent amount of FPS e.g. 30.

For a drop of 5-15 you can trim the spring, e.g. cut off a coil

Heavier BB weight will show a lower FPS reading but is a false reading, the energy is still the same so no you cannot.

As a general rule 99.99% of places chrono on 0.20s even if for example you played using 0.25s

Good point re heavier bbs.

So quick question to all Krytac vector owners if i may.

Does anyone know what the stock spring is rated at ie M130 and what rate I would change this to to bring the fps down by say 30 fps - im assuming ootbox it will be 340 ish.

This will be a sensible change for using the vector indoors though I am considering a Velites shoty for this which should come in around the 300fps mark.

Ta.

Ken

Now I don't own and have not stripped a Krytac Vector but looking at the quoted FPS and the short barrel I would hazard a guess at it being an M100, 110 at a push.

Regardless the FPS is close enough that if it was mine I would trim the spring rather than swap it out.

Being short barrelled I'd bet that a spring trim will have a greater reduction in FPS than a longer / normal barrelled gun.

Interested to hear if someone know the actual spring rate for sure

Nah. Would want to retain its fps for field work so a second spring would be my choice. Reasonably easy to do. Just need to know the stock rate and what I need to reduce it to. Will investigate further because I think it's a sensible recommendation. Will let you know what I find out. Cheers for the guidance.

I'll ask him if he has left BB's in them, Thanks what about the use of thee 11.1v lipo??

Dont know, I only use a 7.4, sorry. If it’s not built for an 11.1 I would guess you’re building up all sorts of issues

Odds are it's recommended to use 7.4s by UK sites but that's more down to warranty than anything else.

11.1s can be used on Krytacs if they have a MOSFET and ETU, just keep the C rating lower (15-25C is normally used) I'm pretty sure the Vector does have both.

Personally I use 11.1V 15-25C on my Krytac MK2 CRB (completely different gun style, I know, but same brand, and contains MOSFET and ETU), but if you really aren't sure/worried about the battery killing your gun, 7.4s will give you no problems. :)

Evening one amd all.  So my Krytac has arrived at the shop and the stock spring is firing at 355. So have agreed to have a coil removed to bring it down by 15 to 20 fps as changing the spring will reduce it further. Good shout DaveGolf.
