Decided to part with my very rare tanaka works m700 acis with 2 mags.
This is internally a standard tanaka m700 pre ban gas bolt action (pre ban means you can adjust the fps on a winder on the bolt) that is fitted to this L96a1 style stock.
This comes in its original 1990’s box with all manuals (in Japanese) with 2 gas tight magazines, and has a modified well pro bipod adapter so it can accept the included well pro quick release bipod.
Modifications:
When I got it the original hop unit (supplied in the box) was cracked and falling apart. So an action army hop unit has been modified to fit, this is pared with a maple leaf autobot 60 and (I think) a full length maple leaf 6.03 tight bore barrel.
The inner barrel is the full length of the new action army fluted & threaded outer barrel which is shorter than the stock one (stock outer barrel and inner barrels are included with the sale) and currently shooting at 500fps on a .20 however this is adjustable via the previously mentioned pre ban bolt.
Other modifications were made to the bolt, it has an extended nozzle for better consistency, a different internal spring to increase fps (stock spring included with sale) and I bought a spare kjw m700 bolt handle that i modified with a well pro bolt handle to replicate the original l96a1.
This bolt handle is threaded and thread locked to the kjw part however I suspect it wouldn’t hold up to loads of abuse so the stock handle is included in the sale and it’s a 5 minute job to swap.
Condition wise the metal work is in every good condition, the stock has seen a little action, and isnt mint, but is in good undamaged condition none the less.
Included in the sale is a rail adapter from a cheaper l96a1 springer, and is of poor quality, hence why I didn’t fit it.
Things to note, this is an old rare rifle, parts for it are had to find however the base rifle shares almost all of its components with the kjw m700, so spares are easily available through them.
The magazines are very hard to find, and unfortunately are prone to swelling making it hard to remove the magazines at times. I’ve done what I can to improve this however if you keep this in a hot location I would expect the mags to swell once again.
Also comes with the currently fitted hawke scope.
Overall it’s in great shape and has been future proofed with modern upgrades. Comes with its original box and paperwork plus all original parts.
