An oddball build I've been working on and running for this year. Full disclosure, it's not quite where I'd want it to be accuracy-wise, at least compared to my other gas sniper rifle. Hop consistency is pretty great but FPS consistency isn't quite there, and I have honestly fallen out of love with it a bit. Being honest up front as this RIF is quite a tech heavy one to own, and you really have to be comfortable with rolling up your sleeves with it.
This M700 comes with 1x AAC21 Long Mag, 1x Tanaka Short Mag, 2x KJW Short Mags. All are gas tight and firing correctly.
It's functionally a Tanaka M700 with the below parts replacements:
- AAC21 Hop Chamber, to allow VSR barrels and buckings,
- Action Army 6.03mm inner barrel,
- Modify X-Range 70 bucking,
- G&G steel bolt,
- G&G steel firing pin,
- G&G steel cocking piece,
- Steel trigger sear,
Additionally, the outer barrel is fixed to the sling point with some JB Weld. (Installing the new hop unit shifted it forward slightly so the sling point no longer lined up correctly.) The trigger has been tuned to an immediate wall with very crisp break, all FCG parts have been polished for slick action. The hop unit can be adjusted by the top dial in very fine increments as well. The bolt also has a G&G rubber gasket, and the nozzle extension for better BB feeding.
