I bought a F.R.A.G-C grenade recently, it's a Dupont polymer impact grenade, that weighs just short of 200 grams, and it cost £54.99 new, I got it during a sale.
It takes .209 primers and reloads just like a standard TRMR.
I have owned, for comparison, swat's original impact design (that had to be dropped on its head) dynatex dominators of a couple of generations, and a few TRMRs. Have also owned SWAT and dynatex timed, and GR20s.
It's light, it has a push button safety, and is available in bright colours or more tactical colours. I picked purple just so it stands out against the floor-and I had a purple TRMR stolen which was only recovered when the bright purple grenade was noticed and then serial identified after being spotted in someone else's kit a couple of weeks later.
Anyway...some feedback.
They don't have a serial number on the body. You'll have to self serial- unfortunately these things do grow legs.
They aren't as nice a thing to own as a lovely machined TRMR- but you're only chucking it on the floor.
I think the safety is a much better push button design on the FRAG than the twist of the TRMR (which has a gap, when the safety was on, just big enough for a BB to jam) and although less satisfying than a pin, such as the dominator, it's better for Airsoft. It is harder to tell whether the safety is on at a glance, or in the dark before a throw, though. The easiest thing to do is leave it off.
I have very rarely had light strikes with either the dominator or the TRMR. I had about a 40% failure to fire yesterday, which were all light strikes on the primers, in an indoor cqb environment.
The light weight is pointless, from a safety point, if it has to be chucked with more force. I would imagine it would be terrible at a particular set of sites that impose knee high deployment only.
Honest opinion would be to swerve, and buy a dominator (if it has to be impact) or a dynatex timed grenade, as they're more versatile.
I don't think the TRMR clone or whatever it is is worth the money of being able to buy 2 of the cheaper dominators.
I had intended to buy 2 more if they were any good, but I am genuinely disappointed.
