So I decided to dust off my PTW as I’m gonna try out a new CQB place in wolves in a couple of weeks. My PTW is the CQB version so absolutely perfect for the job. It’s fully Tac’d and has modified real EMAGS which Tac modified for me. On the base cylinder she’s shootmg 340 to 344. Pucker I’d say..

Would you say it’s worth it nowadays to buy one? (Obviously second hand) even with all the aeg’s with mosfets etc etc

These RIF's ain't cheap that's for sure and once all the TAC mods have been done then the RIF will continue going..... The only annoying thing is the followers in the mags... you may need to buy quite a few coz they can get lost... Like I said they ain't cheap and do come up from time to time.... If you buy one and someone says it has TAC mods, you can verify it with Tac himself as he keeps records... That way you make sure you don't get screwed over...

Lovely RIF and the sound of a Systema is something else :)

I have a couple of ptws, mainly back ups now in case one of my gbbrs plays up. This one is a systema infinity with the motor in the gearbox, the gearbox and cylinder kit was £1300 and the externals are mostly HAO so it did cost a bit. Will definitely depreciate a lot but it does get a lot of comments

I've currently got a TW5 (and hopefully a couple m4s on the way) and theyre just such lovely runners. Unsure if mine's been Tackleberried but it has some of the external mods so maybe. Only thing that worries me these days is the lack of spare parts and the systema tax you pay on what remains XD.

The joy is though, as long as you keep them well maintained, the failure points on them are pretty low. No tappet plate, rugged mosfets, an inner barrel you can hammer nails in with, they command/ed the prices they go for on quality alone.

Oh, and the hop 👌

Depending on work done and condition, along with with comes with it - anything from £700-£1000
Sure did delete the first bit of this message moving the text about 😂

They are still popular albeit don't see many about in the field.

They also seem to have held their value although it's now a really old concept...then rest of my message 🤣

With these beasts, as long as you maintain them they are rock solid. And you simply can’t mimic that Systema sound. Although the new NGRS rifles seem to be interesting if not very Systema like.

See, the problem I find with comparing Systema and NGRS, is that whilst they're both trying to provide a premium product that has greater realism, they essentially do that in entirely distinct ways. The NGRS's main selling point is in the name: Recoil. Whilst they do provide a more authentic sense of weapon manipulation, they are still at their heart a TM standard aeg with all the foibles and benefits that system presents. Systemas/PTWs are built as a simulator that happens to fire bbs. Theyre designed to be thrown around in a training scenario with military/le users, and focus much more on compatibility with real steel accessories. The fact they work as well as they do is a side effect of Systema's manufacturing prowess.

All this to say that there isnt really a superior platform. TMs may not have the compatibility perks, but they are far more accessible in terms of parts and transferable teching skills, whilst PTWs will never have the depth and breadth of parts support, but arguably don't even require it as with only slightly more advanced teching skills they can feasibly last longer than most standard v2/3 based rifs with stock internals.

I'm definitely biased, but that doesn't mean I don't see the good points of NGRS. It does feel however, that at the point most of them have been modified to a players tastes, you could have just gotten a PTW and all you really lose is "Recoil".
