Hello all,
I've just gone through the process of my first gearbox shim. Everything's gone well, Up until I put it mostly back together, And check the fire modes.
Single... Works fine.
Auto... As expected...
Safety... Fires auto ?
So I had a look online, Seen all the usual jazz about loose selector levers, Wasn't the problem. Cutoff lever is in shape and the springs just fine. The selector plate looks to be in good shape. The cutoff lever is engaging the cam on the gear to the piston perfectly fine, (single works, after all) So I'm at a bit of a loss to what's going on.
The only thing I notice is that the small raised level (shown red on image) doesn't move forward enough to engage the cutoff lever which'd stop the trigger from moving. The selector gears can't even move the selector plate forward enough for that, So I presume I'm missing something.
Thanks in advance, And if it's something stupid I've missed, I'm really really sorry.
