Ending up finding what I was after here, delivery cost was a lot more reasonable and also had a nosey at their sale section... Safe to say I left with more than just the receiver set. Got the express shipping as it was only £12 more and I'm impatient. Will update if all goes well!

Received the package yesterday, all arrived okay. No import fees either and sailed through customs which was lovely! Definitely recommend 18Airsoft 

 
I bought something off them about two weeks ago and it arrived on Wednesday. I do think its a bit cheeky that they ask for tip at the payment screen, but I suppose the hustle is real! :D  I recommend overall.

Recent experience was terrible. Ordered E&C M16A1VN barrel and front sight. Received items in bubble wrap with no retail packaging, missing all the pins and the grub screw for the sight, with a shortened gas tube, and an unidentifiable barrel about 2" too short. I have no idea as to what brand this barrel is (or the sight post) or even the gun the barrel is meant to fit, but it certainly isn't for an M16A1. Conveniently Sixmm don't accept email correspondence via their website, so it's straight to PayPal with this one. This was meant to be a quick conversion job to fit some E&C M16A2 handgrips I have, which has turned into a right old faff. :rolleyes:

I'll admit I have been tempted by some of thier cheaper sale items, but always end up being put off by the shipping costs/times/risks. I guess only buy from them with cash your happy to potentially lose lol.

My worst experience was waiting nearly 2 months for something they said would take up to half that time. It turned out that they listed something they had no stock of when I bought it and only admitted it when I chased them through their chat system.

Everything else I've ordered had been delivered in less than 2 weeks and I always got what I had ordered. With that said, I wouldn't recommend them I think my anecdotal experience is among the better exceptions.
 
My personal problem is they list a few items I'm very interested in and absolutely cannot find anywhere else; even after waiting some amount of months in hope that any other retailer would get them in. I'm surprised they still take paypal since folks can just claim back the money on all the orders they monumentally f' up. The fact that that 'safety net' is there is why I'm even considering taking the plunge on them again, combined with the aforementioned availability factor.

For anyone looking to buy any item that can be acquired from literally any alternate source, they are certainly to be avoided.
 
I use them quite a bit. It's very much a game of internet roulette as it either turns up in 6 days or takes 3 months. I'd say so far it's been about 85% delivered within 2 weeks. 14% takes ages and very rarely they refund my cash when they can't deliver. There are better places out there (I'm looking at you 18airsoft and airsoft.tiger111hk) so use sixmm at your own risk.
 
It's worth noting that if Sixmm is the only one showing stock of something you want, they probably don't have it anyway.

Also a lot of stuff is basically made to order in Taiwan and you can pick stuff up off-catalogue from other retailers. It really depends on what the product is.
 
sixmm are really good for single high value items where you can make substantial savings. They are not good for orders with lots of small stuff as their stock isn't really reliable. That said MOST items in stock are. Additionally they are fine for refunds etc IF you are firm but polite. Otherwise they can be very difficult.
They're a great retailer but they're not a catch all and, like most, have their issues.

First time i used them i was unaware of how bad they are. I ordered an Angrygun KAC suppressor/tracer, they gave me a duff tracking number and after 6 or 8 weeks they admitted they actually hadn't (and couldn't) ship it and refunded me.

Second time i was fully aware, but i ordered a handguard that no-one else had in stock and by some miracle it arrived fine soon after.

But in future.. no.
