Shorten Battery Wires

My battery wires are a bit long for the TM Scar H I have. I basically have to scrunch them up to fit. I was thinking of shortening the battery wires with some electrical connectors.

Before I do, will this effect performance/heat in anyway? Has anyone done this? Cheers

If you're going to shorten battery wires, do it by cutting them one at a time and resoldering the connector. Crimp connectors are just going to introduce another failure point.
