What do you use? Any protection benefits of using one over another you want to share? Problems you've encountered using either to buy rifs?

Anything on the subject really! :)

I use Paypal where I can, no idea which is safer I just find Paypal is easier

I go with paypal. It's one more barrier in the way of fraudsters as opposed to directly typing in your credit card details.

Cheers for replies so far guys, yeah good point Chock about them not getting your card number by using paypal. Read a couple of threads saying Paypal don't cover anything airsoft related against loss though, not sure how true that is?

PayPal buyer protection definitely does not cover RIF's. So far we do not know what their attitude to parts of RIF's may be.

Paypal certainly kicked some butt when a UK retailer mislaid a two tone rifle that I bought some time ago.

If thats the case, I will be very wary of using Paypal for Airsoft guns in the future.

I think we are overselling the gun again, as far as PayPal is concerned it's not a RIF, it's a toy.

Paypal funded by a credit card! Although, if you're buying anything to do with an RIF then Paypal buyer protection won't cover you!

yes pal buyer protection dose cover you its in there terms and conditions "Other Related Items – PayPal allows transactions for paintball guns, blank guns and air-soft guns as permitted by law in the applicable jurisdiction. These items must display all markings required by law, must not be convertible to shoot a lethal projectile, and must not include blank ammunition."

you know what i am having trouble finding this exact wording on there website. worrying if its not there then i am going to have to escrow evertying or do face to face only

Yes they'll allow the transaction but you won't be covered by PayPal buyer protection. Trust me I just lost £140 because of this!

"as permitted by law in the applicable jurisdiction"

There's the line that ruins it, the sale of a RIF in the UK IS ILLEGAL. The fact that as a skirmisher you can provide the seller with a defence against prosecution doesn't mean they're not breaking the law, PayPal will NOT cover anything to do with a RIF, as their sale is AGAINST THE LAW.

they have changed there website and i think terms so if they wont cover it where do we stand because im sure as hell not running on good faith with 350 pound plus items
