It has a ris rail, but a rather short one - only nine gaps on the picatinny rail making a rail length of about 9cm.

The short version of the normal polymer ones is about 12cmlong, and I need something shorter. At 12cm I imagine the two ends would bend down.

Problem is that many retailers give no dimensions for their products.

I have a short vertical grip on the very end to avoid problems with magazine changes, but it doesn't really look right on an AK. I'd like something a little closer to my supporting hand.

If anybody has any ideas please advise me.

If there's no room you could try a handstop instead

I modified a Magpul AFG clone. I'll upload a picture at some point.

Quite like it so will likely do it with a real one soon too.

You could try the Zenitco PK-6 http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207844 or the  RK-1 it longer than you ask for by it set at a slight angle https://grey-shop.ru/Patches/Outer-Tuning/Zenitco-Grip  or if you wanted to add more space you could try the B-9M Goose give you some more room to use https://grey-shop.ru/Patches/Outer-Tuning/B-9M-Goose
Thanks a lot, but some of that stuff is a little more than I want to pay.

Maybe not a bad idea, in conjunction with some rubber rail covers.

Hi cap mag!
Got two. All metal. I do prefer the midcaps though. I keep forgetting to wind the clockwork ones.

Look forward to it.

Thanks to you all for your help.

Have a look at some of the 5Ku ones here: https://www.weapon762.com/231-grips

Or alternatively FMA do a fairly short angled grip http://www.fma.hk/angled-fore-grip-tb1101-p-1277.html but you may have to scour ebay to find the part or possibly order from Aliexpress/ebairsoft

Thanks Lozart. I like the look of both those.

Especially the first.

If you're interested I have the FMA extended mag release for an AK. PM me if you're interested

Here ya go. I much prefer it because it sits much closer to the magwell and allows for being lazy. If I actually want to hit something I can move my hand forward and still have the space to do so (which I wouldn't if it sat where it would do normally).

When I neaten it up I'll remove the whole flat part and only leave the angled bit, but this was mostly to check measurements.
