Welcome to the forums, mate. If you have any questions, don't be shy, ask away. Unfortunately there is a small industry surrounding the sport which makes its money by selling shight, which may just about have a place in a kiddies' back garden battle but genuinely may not even be good enough for that, as skirmishable guns and gear. Obviously your mate can advise you also, but before you spend anything more than a tenner, I'd get people's opinion here.

don't bother with a pistol for a while - u will not need it - u will hardly ever use it - u are better spending the money on spare mags for your AEG and maybe a red dot optical sight, or a BFG.
