Hi there!

I´m Germán (not from germany), I belong to a Spanish airsoft team called "Comando Grayskull".

I´m presentating myself because some teammates (from this spanish forum http://www.airsoftmadrid.com/) and I we were trying to get the "VTG grenade" (from this place http://www.blankfiringgrenade.com), and as I am the only one able to understand english I have to make the international search.

So at the end I get to this forum which seems to be one of the biggest airsoft forum in UK, and I was wondering if you could help us at least explaining me this message:

Is there any kind of United Kindom legislation to prove "actives" airsoft players?

I will be very glad if you could help us, by the way, im searching in your "technical" part as I love learning new ways of optimizing my airsoft stuff with tecniques I still dont know.

I hope I didnt break any rule with this post, and if so, my apologies and close it if I did it (I think I understand all the rules in the pinned-rules-post).

from that site we - in UK have to fill out a form & scan/email it back to them

but maybe - and I do not know what their policy is for spain but they do ship overseas

That BFG is a timed BFG taking 9mm blanks or will take 6.02mm shotgun primers with adpter

(basically cut a tube about 20mm long that is 9mm outer dia & just over 6mm internal)

Impact BFG I have Oshiboom as well as the timed BFG above - both types are good

9mm blanks are about 3 or 4 times as much to buy so worth getting/making 6mm adapter

(think if you use imperial size tube it works best 3/8 outer & 1/4 inch inner diameter tube)

Alas that site is closed until Monday now but worth looking at and they do ship overseas

RIF - yes but 2-tone and some other stuff No

I got my Oshiboom from JBBG and 2 boxes of 9mm blanks (100 9mm blanks) - before UKARA'd

But when ordering Dynatex from zero one, the order was halted until I completed the form

I had to d/load, fill out, scan & email back the pyro form from zero one even though they had my UKARA on file

(not sure if it was coz of buying 300 x 6.02 primers with BFG - they were on crazy offer at time)

Think there was no mention on the form if I was UKARA'd - just declaration I was sesnsible 18+ and understood

the do's/don'ts safety issues etc.... basically zero one covering their ar$e I guess

Have ordered primers from JD Airsoft but gave them my UKARA anyway....

LWA sell these primers too but when I looked they were out of stock a while ago

So think the law on BFG's and blanks especially is a little unclear but think most retailers may not be as strict

as when they sell RIF's and all that

After all - the blanks & BFG's are sort of just a firework banger in the end and as long as you are 18+ you can buy

thunderflash, bangers, blanks, rockets & catherine wheels etc.....

As well as 2-tone IF & 2-tone blank firing guns I think

I am not gonna use the word "flawed" but is kinda crazy why not all places check or fill out a form etc....

yes a little blank is quite safe if used correctly - but detonate 100 together like a box of bangers and that is dangerous

much like a 2-tone IF can still have some sod's eye out I guess if used foolishly

Soz for rant - end of day think Spain's Airsoft laws are not as strict as UK - seen loads of cheaper black RIF's

and air pistols/rifles I think for sale in Spanish Toy shops for adult purchases so doubt if Spain req defense as such

(Ireland doesn't req defense for RIF - but think Germany has a possible rule no full auto airsoft guns but dunno if that true)

weird some of this defense malarky - but hey its still banned down under in Australia

and blanks/pyro's BFG's etc.... is a little unclear - but think Zero One will know if they are ok to export to Spain

in UK "some" things - RIF = black guns require defense or UKARA database entry

and maybe some retailers also might req a few checks on BFG's n blanks

but think most don't as they are like fireworks on there own

They might be some restrictions on BFG's in some countries like Spain

but Spain seems less strict than UK on black Realistic Imitation Firearms (RIF)

Either way - it would be worth given Zero One a call I reckon on Monday and they

can advise you/brother on anything like this

Think it applies to RIF - this is the main reason for UKARA

like I said I bought an OshiBoom n blanks with no UKARA

plus they also seem to ship to Europe & Ireland - site has prices in Euro's but on ES site they don't

seem to list BFG's - so maybe they don't allow them in Spain or don't wish to ship these BFG's overseas

(some places prefer people to collect in person some pyro's rather than than post - even to UK addresses)

Thanks for the answers, im learning a lot of UK airsoft legislation in one day.

In Spain we dont have any kind of restriction buying airsoft/blank firing devices stuff (just beeing 18+). Airsoft is not even "regulated", its legal, but its not still considered as anything...for the goberment we are just like nerd people collecting military stuff.

I wish one day we could create some kind of federation/asociation or something beacuse the Airsoft is a very extended "non-considered-sport" in the country. The problem comes when you try to put two spaniards in common ideas...

Anyway, focusing in the main topic. My brother is not part of the UKARA, he is not even an airsoft player. But, for example the VTG for UK people is 65 pounds, and 100 Pounds for international orders...so thats the reason (its a big difference) I was looking after UK people.

I dont know if this a is a good question, if so, please tell me in order to no commit the same mistake 2 times. Can I ask a UKARA player to make the order for me? (obviusly with a bit of commision), or thats illegal?

(yes it can be gifted but still puts the legit UKARA player in an awkward position)

If retailer won't do it then why would any player risk it and get their ar$e chewed

soz but forget that request - I have tried to help ya as much as i can but doubt

if many will cross that line for you - so best not ask that crap

I know any 18yr old can buy an osh i boom on JBBG coz I have done it

the BFG on zero one may still need form filled out and they may or may not

sell to overseas/non-ukara people but that is down to retailer - their choice

think JD Airsoft sell a training grenade too but unsure about their rules/regs

as well as not sure if they will ship overseas

Some sellers will ship some won't

(Evike in US will ship to UK but think Airsoft GI won't ship to UK)

I would suggest contact Zero One or get your bro to get OshiBoom from JBBG

but doubt if any on here will assist you in buying one I'm afraid

Thanks for telling me. If its illegal I will definetly not ask anyone to do that, and sorry if the question was "offensive".

Then my next step (following your advice), is going to be sending emails to the retailers and see what kind of "forms" do they need.

By the way, thank you, not only for the information, also for the new links of retailers which sells this kind of items.

I will let you know how this story continue in case anyone in the future needs this information ^_^

Hi again guys!

It´s been a long jurney, but like i promise, im here to tell the end of my story .

I could buy the BFD from UK and they do not even ask me for UKARA number or anything. The order was made, and the grenades arrives in spain with no problems.

So I want to thank you all for your patience answering my question (even the crazy ones ).
