So I was walking out of a local store this evening, guy walking in was wearing a pair of old skool denim dungarees, & it got me thinking 🤔
As ive said before, illness & time have meant ive put on a bit of timber since I served, back then trousers & belt orders stayed where they were supposed to, & literally any kit worked for me.
Fast forward 40 years, back problem & changing shape means cinching a belt around my waist is difficult, resulting in constantly pulling things up, annoying to say the least, & if they slip down during strenuous movement, usually rip the crotch, not a good look lol 🍑
Braces ain't great, bend the wrong way, camel toe🐪,
Ive tried the overalls/flight suits too, again they pull in the wrong direction sometimes, no give.
So seeing them today got me thinking, molle bib like on some chest rigs, molle panels on both hips, or belt loops to take a molle belt, & obviously in tacticool colours or camos.

So, kinda question to the hive I guess, has any manufacturer made anything like this ?, ive tried goggling various terms & very little comes back.
Or has anyone ever tried making/modding their own ?

If someone does make tactical dungarees... I hope they have a denim pattern for the true American heroes 😂

Can you not wear something like a US issued FLC or LBV? What exactly happens with some type of belt (PLCE or PALS) with a yoke/harness? Won't need pulling up and can't fall down; not sure how webbing kit interferes with your trousers (might have mis-read something though).

Lol, im definitely getting a redneck vibe🤣

No, webbing/rigs don't interfere with my kecks , but in my old age (58 next week), & the fact im carrying some long term "injuries", im now much more inclined to favour lightweight loadouts, the trousers thing is just a bit of a nuisance even in everyday life, whereas dungarees just kinda hang on you, very comfortable, so if they had some tactical carrying ability, best of both worlds ???
If something doesn't already exist ?, maybe I could mod some regular commercially available kit ?, my woodland kit all involves od, irrespective of the camo im using, so if I could find a good quality set in od, maybe attach some fast clips to add molle placards etc ?
I'm all about the comfort these days, who doesn't get indoors & immediately change more comfortable clothing, just thinking can I take that aspect to gamedays ?
I think earlier i just had a "eureka" moment, now gotta figure out if its feasible 🤔
 
Look at work sallopettes on Ebay. They have lots of side pockets, hammer loops etc and come in OD. Strauss Workwear do similar. I've certainly had a few OD, earth coloured bits from them over the years for work (airsoft).

Thank you, coincidentally just been on ebay & found a couple of types,, one of which is a stretchy material, unsure the other is looking better for modding, & already has a H type braces so possibly better for load spread.
I'll head back there & try "work salopettes"

The waterproof ones look like the same material as ones I use for fly fishing and don't
make any noise when moving around (unlike older waterproofs) so should be good on
game days
 
My only thought is if you're going to try adding pouches to a set of dungarees it would probably be worth adding at least a strap that goes round your back. I can just see adding a bunch of weight and bulk to that front flap causing it to hang down and wobbly around as you're moving. All you'd need is a strap that goes round your back to hold things in place a bit better. Also, don't forget about needing to pee. Got to make sure it doesn't make it too hard to get things undone in a hurry
