Ok so I have just sprayed my TM G36 matte black as it was looking pretty weathered, came out great, really impressed with it, however given my latest purchases I have been toying with the idea of taking it a little further... Just bought a flat rail, an Eotech and a Magpul AFG and had a brainwave/brainfart - why not spray the stock, pistol grip, hand guard, mags and eotech cover tan/khaki? Inspiration obviously being the Magpul M4s and such like, which I happen to think look awesome with the black receiver and accompanying parts, but what are people's opinions? Would it work on a G36?

Thoughts please!

I did the same in OD when I had a g36, I thought it looked much better than the standard black that everyone else has.

Though I would leave the mags as they are and instead paint the magwell piece :)

im a fan of rubberised black paint, sure itll show every scratch etc, but the improved grip.... course i think the coulour of you gun should kinda relate to your cammo, looks weird tan uniform with black gun and vise versa... yet i think guns that are painted entirely another colour look cheap/weird too, where as i like the one in m_p's sig...

This is essentially what I was thinking of doing..... Krylon is ordered but the G36 is currently having some internal upgrades carried out so I have some time to think about it...

Externally, the below is basically what it will look like body wise

Looks alright but I wouldn't paint the bolt cover, rails or afg- too much tan at the front. As I said before I'm not a fan of painted mags as the paint always wears on them very quickly, leave them black but paint the small magwell piece above the.

+1 on the magwell, I don't think painted mags look great either. If you're using locaps you'd be tempted to drop them as you change mags, wasting the krylon you'd used on them if they got scratched.

Scratched paint on mags would look quite cool in my opinion. It really enforces the veteran look.

If you're going tan, why not just go full KSK?

I got one of them fancy fancy magpulled m4s ohhh so good. Don't tell me that's gay as hell cause I'll verbally abuse you with extreme prejudice like a bamf

Hammered looking paint jobs are the way forward.
