I picked up a second hand Stoner 63 the other day for a good price, but it is stock as far as I've been told.
I want to upgrade it before running it on the field, but I'm not sure what parts would be good for something like this as its quite different to other LMGs from what I can tell.
The previous owner was running it on 11.1v without a mosfet installed, and when I chronoed it on a 7.4v the gun did 0.69 joules/244 FPS on 0.25g.
Ideally I'd want it closer to 1.1 joules and able to take 11.1v batteries.
Right now I'm looking at a stronger spring (M100/105/110), getting a mosfet, and a lower gear ratio (16:1 or 13:1).
Does the motor need upgrading, and hop up unit (its a but of an odd feeding system so not sure if there are even alternatives to the stock one)?
Would appreciate any suggestions for particular parts or brands.
(Also what is that bit on the back of the gearbox?)
