G&P M4A1

I received my G&P M4A1 a couple of days ago and I am less than impressed. It performs worse than my Dad's Combat Machine. The trigger response it slow and it's really easy to half shoot the gun. I can now only shoot 2 or 3 rounds on semi before it either goes on to safe or simply stops doing anything. Has anyone else had these problems? And can I fix them? I have a skirmish tomorrow so if it's a quick fix then that's great!

What's the battery like? Can you try the one off your dads gun?

It's an 8.4v 1600mah which is the same as my Dads.

Is the battery new/old?

And have you tried any other batteries on your gun?

It's a new battery and so is my Dads. Mine has been completely used up and then charged again so its not brand new. I could give my brothers 9.6v a go.

is the battery connector on the gun look ok? Just trying to rule out any problems there

Dose it dry fire ok?

Just tried my Dads battery and it fires perfectly! but the battery is still getting quite hot and so was my battery. Is this normal? Thanks

Errrrr unsure about the hot battery they do get warm, but I don't think they should get hot ....
