Hi guys new to the forum. I'm interested in a particular rifle and have found a site in Tokyo - Echigoya, I want to know if anyone has ordered from them before- are they legit and would I have any problems with customs in the U.K.?

Very legit.

If UKARA number displayed on package, only import issue you would have is the 99.9% chance of customs charges.

Seconded here as a legit airsoft site, and customs will sting you!

I think the rule of thumb for customs is they add Duty + VAT + clearance fees.

Duty on airsoft guns is about 12%

VAT is 20%

and clearance fees is carrier dependant though usually around £13 to 15.

Don't forget specific VAT on shipping. :)

Thanks guys I really appreciate the advice here I'm new to airsoft. I've another question - im after a Tokyo Marui HK416c EBB rifle and wondered could anyone recommend where I would find the best price?

Enforceable UK/european warranties are worth some extra costs though.

Hi guys sorry I've a lot of questions, I've been in touch with the Tokyo Model Company - has anyone had any dealings with them, also they've offered to mark down the invoice price on the parcel in an attempt to avoid/lower customs charges and I wondered if this works with U.K. Customs? Thanks

Tokyo model company are also legit. They lowering of the declared invoice amount will help lower the amount of customs charges you pay, you will end up paying though!

These guys now have a full english site.

Just ordered off em, hopefully no issues...

My bad on the necro, fairly sure this was in the "places to buy" bit
