Hello,
New to airsoft & would appreciate some help with a technical issue, I've a JG / ASG G36c AEG. It was firing at too high fps so I've took the gearbox apart to downgrade the spring.
Made a newb mistake and wasn't too careful with the spring so I had gears / shims flying everywhere but have put it all back together. Also put a new selector switch and upgraded spring guide.
I've two questions as below:-
1) The original spring has a hook on the end which hooks into a metal plug within the piston securing the front of the spring to the piston head. The piston head screws into metal piece, I've been unable to find any replacement springs with a hook like this. So is it acceptable to put a normal lower powered spring with flat ends in place and just screw the metal into place? In this case the spring won't be physically attached to the piston head.
If using a normal spring with the metal plug would this make a spring more powerful than rated as the metal plug would take extra space therefore additional compression? Reason for asking is I put a M90 in place but it seems more compressed/stronger than the original.
2) When I put the gearbox / trigger back together and wire it up, the anti reversal latch jams after pulling the trigger. I can release this by disconnecting the motor and pulling the latch with a screwdriver through the motor hole but it consistently reoccurs on every trigger pull. I initially thought this may be related to the new spring but I replaced the original back and still same issue. I'm thinking this might be caused by shimming issues (as due to the explosion when first opening the gearbox they shot out and I didn't see where they were located), is this along the right lines?
3) Phew, finally, as a last resort is there anyone in the Berks / Middx/ Surrey area who can repair / downgrade gearboxes just in case I have to give in and can't fix this before next skirmish ;-)
Cheers
Oggie
