Angled foregrips - Magpull style copies

Could anyone tell me why some look like this, with a raised wall for half of the length:

Is it just a style difference or are they designed for different lengths of 20mm rails or something?

Magpul AFG1 (old style) vs AFG2 (new).

AFG1 is raised at the front and also slightly different in other areas (I believe has a less harsh angle too). I prefer it over the 2.

So to answer your question: They will both fit 20mm rails and are of a very similar length. Pick which you like the look of.
