    School me on batteries

Treat well Lipos are superior to NiMH and have a longer life span with more reliability. Don't go cheap on the charger if you can, I highly recommend chargers by Sky RC : https://www.modelsport.co.uk/skyrc-s60-ac-charger-60w-6a/rc-car-products/395139 I have one that has double charging so it...

Just to chime in here, if you do progress and want some bigger hardware/lenses - I use MPB.com and go for their used kit. I got a 24-105mm Canon lens, used and it was in mint condition. Currently using a Canon 7D, but am looking to grab a used 5D MKIII at some point.

    Cambridge airsoft newbie

Awesome mate :)  I'll be camping in Wales that weekend but enjoy! The site is getting more players all the time and the guys are adding quite a bit to the layout. They're very open to suggestions too with it being a young site. No worries :)  we're in proper airsoft season now so I'll try...

    Cambridge airsoft newbie

Hi there! We've got a few players in the local area, @Markuz is one - we currently play at RIFT - The Village, SWAS RAF Wyton, and have plans to visit Team Green over at Tuddenham at some point too. I've got a few more sites on my list in the local area too so if you're ever heading to these...

Airsoft Game Day Photography Do's and Don'ts ?

I shoot with a 24-105mm lens on a Canon 5D - does everything you need. Be careful of using a polarised filter, you will lose a couple of stops of exposure. I would more recommend a UV filter which is clear and still protects your lens to a degree (although it would shatter if a 0.4 hit it close...

Is Airsoft more popular than I thought?

I'm with you on encouraging people to give archery a go, it is incredibly satisfying when you get a great shot. I was unfortunately one of those shooting recurve, and while I didn't go down the route of the eye patches, I did have the stabilisers fitted. It takes a huge amount of skill...

Is Airsoft more popular than I thought?

I'm having some work done on my garage roof, and the guy spots my practice archery target (full of holes) but mistakes it and asks "do you do Airsoft?" Turns out he used to partake but moved up to airgun target shooting and now clay/rifle shooting. One of the guys I parkrun with spots a photo...

    Just dropping by...

What Facebook debacle? ? welcome anyway! Word to the wise, Airsofters are impatient buggers with shop orders (just check out the Places to Buy threads) so any updates to customers if their order is delayed, no matter how small an update, will carry you a long way!

    Tokyo Marui which gas?

I have a TM PX4 and can highly recommend Swiss Arms Extreme Gas - link - it works very well in the RIF although does start to suffer in really low temperatures, as-in below 10 degrees. In the ranges of 10-15 it should work fine.

Airsoft shooting range provides Donald Trump target

No facts I'm afraid but you just have to look at the hoops Ukapu has jumped through with regards to legislation to get us where we are now. As others have said, all it takes is a Daily Mail headline - "KIDS AS YOUNG AS 6 WITH GUNS ON YOUR STREETS" and the government will lap it up as a Brexit...

Airsoft shooting range provides Donald Trump target

With others on this - Airsoft is legally on a knife edge and it's things like this that will make some hand-wringing-worrier lobby parliament and next thing you know we'll have permanently orange RIFs. Although the MPs assumption that kids as young as 6 will be taking part in Airsoft I think is...

First Gearbox Rebuild - parts list advice

If it's been sat around, check the contacts on the trigger that they haven't oxidised. Otherwise if you haven't lost any of the tiny springs then you should be in good shape. My first gearbox split was a nightmare, could not get the reverse latch and trigger spring to stay put while trying to...

Project: Well MB09/10: All upgrades installed!

I think the spring is a spare for the mag catch? Apparently they can fall out easily on some models when being dismantled.

    Walk on site

Bit late to the discussion on this one but I've got a TM PX4 with 4-mags and that served me well running for fun as a primary one day. I had a single pistol speed loader which could fill the 4 mags so had roughly 200ish rounds on me, the mags could do two full goes without being regassed. So...

JG Bar-10 G-Spec custom build diary

Ouch! Yeah masks are annoying, especially when aiming (I've found the soft side masks are best for it) but I'd rather keep my teeth! RIFT keep a running tally, they're up to something like 16 teeth knocked out.

JG Bar-10 G-Spec custom build diary

No it was nice and calm yesterday, and it was always a slight curve to the right no matter where I was shooting. I adapted my aiming to suit, but not ideal of course. BBs are Geoffs Bio BBs, and the barrel is a madbull 6.03 (AEG barrel to work with the AirsoftPro hop unit).  I managed to get...

JG Bar-10 G-Spec custom build diary

I finally got to field the sniper for the first time yesterday at RIFT and the results were 50-50. Range is good, with 0.4g BBs, I was getting at least a decent 60 metre range, although I had a slight bend in the shot where they tended to curve right, so the hopup is a little off. Testing on...

JG Bar-10 G-Spec custom build diary

Bit of an update, I finally had a chance to test the sniper on a decent range at a local site. I was still having issues with the hop unit and not getting any lift on shots. I tried to wind down the grub screws so the arms would push down more on the bucking, but what I found was the same issue...

JG Bar-10 G-Spec custom build diary

Yeah mine certainly was, unlike the one in the original Ares Striker, its steel not brass. Mine coped with 613fps to begin with so I think its more than up to 400-500 no problem! Sure its an upgrade though, a Teflon cylinder can make the bolt pull a little easier
