  4. Finally done ordering stuff for once. This is by far been the most expensive month for me for Airsoft in years. I ordered a Ghillie suit for me that isnt from a Youtuber (The just released Helikon Tex US Woodland one) A Helikon Tex Hat in Coyote And a little cheeky purchase as it was on the same site and on offer (67 euros) Helikon Tex Mini rig in Denim. So this month alone I have bought. Classic Army MP5A5 SD. Classic Army MP5A3 lower receiver as I wanted that design. 3 Cyma Hi-Caps for MP5 Viper VX Wing Viper VX Mp5 Quad Insert Viper Mini Rig for VX System (To put the AK mags in as the Utility Section isn't quite big enough for 3) Acetech Brighter C Tracer (To put in the MP5 Silencer) Viper Pistol Pouch and a Radio Pouch Helikon CPU Coyote Shirt Helikon Coyote Boonie II Newly released Helikon Ghillie in US Woodland Helikon Training Mini Rig (In DENIM BLUE)
  5. - Invader Gear short sleeve combat shirt in a-tacs fg - 5KU (i know, it's shit) PT6 something AR stock adapter for my Cyma AK - Bit kit for my leatherman wave+ (not for Airsoft, it was on discount and couldn't let it go) Next will be a helikon 2 piece belt for work, so i can strap some pouches on it.
  6. Tell me about it, I've got a fair pair on me ? Or maybe a nice bulle mle, I think there's a jolly nice chap selling a couple in the classifieds ATM ? https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/item/64168-bulle-rigs-od/ Helikon TMR would definitely fit the bill?
  7. Hey guys, Got an email come through from Helikon recently to download a free eBook all about the history of camouflage (mainly Europe). Helikon-Tex Link I haven't read through it all but it's short and quite interesting in a nerdy way. You have to subscribe to the newsletter but it's easy enough to unsubscribe afterwards and I quite like their gear anyway. Screen grab from the back -

      DerDer

Nice but needs a Tigerstripe option.

    2. Skara

      Skara

It's just been released, I expect Helikon to dish out more colours with time. Ideally I would have liked US Woodland or even A-Tacs, but Taiga Green is fine too.

    3. DerDer

      DerDer

      Needs a Brushstroke option.

  8. I think it's the Helikon-Tex SBR Carry Bag
  9. Right - added to the new tax year purchase list then, thanks! It would be lovely if you could also get them in Mitchell pattern like the Helikon's, but beggars can't be choosers!
  10. Having had the Helikon Tex Swagman in my basket for aaages waiting on it possibly dropping in price, I gave up and ordered an Ali Exp clone for 1/5th of the price. Not my first choice of camo, but the best out of what was available Great for lounging around the house ?
  11. Helikon Tex TMR (Training Mini Rig) Use: Designed for shooting ranges (as the name suggests), it's great for airsoft, carries everything you need and nothing you don't. Key features: Made of 500D Cordura, available in a lot of colours and patterns, all legit, multicam will be multicam, a-tacs will be a-tacs and not a weird mix of colours and shades without a sense. 4x rifle magazine pouches, accept both M4 and AK mags, 2 of which can be removed to allow other inserts to be mounted via Velcro 4x pistol magazine pouches 1x medium sized utilty pouch 1x medium sized utility/medical dangler pouch H Harness straps with a few PALS on them. Build Quality: Being made for real steel stuff, it's quite well made, the stitching is great and you can feel the quality just by touching it. My opinion and overall comments: First impressions when i got it: it felt great by touching it, i loaded the rig with what i usually carry on a skirmish, so 3 mags, bbs, radio, valuables (car keys, phone, cigarettes) and some first aid supplies. Adjusting it is the easiest thing ever. put it on, pull the straps, secure them with tape. done. the waist strap has a G hook, which has a tendency to come loose when not in tension, Helikon solved the problem with a Cordura sleeve that goes around it. the 4 main magazine pouches are a little odd compared to most chest rigs: the 2 internal ones are recessed into the rig, while the external ones are about an inch (a molle row) lower.. i found them to be intuitive and easy to use despite the odd positioning. the reason for the recessed pouches is to make sure the central utility pouch doesn't bulge out when full of stuff. the central mag pouches are connected via Velcro, this allows the user to replace them with other inserts via Velcro, or to remove them completely and have another utility pouch for documents or a wallet. I believe you can get the holster insert and save space on your belt... As you can see from the picture i put 3 magazines and the radio in those pouches. be aware that Midland radios don't fit in the side mag pouches when used with a mic/speaker, so i had to put the radio in the central pouch and the last mag on the far right. this doesn't bother me at all, i can still reach that magazine easily. Oh, and the side mag pouches have a drain hole. the 4 pistol pouches are fixed to the rig, like everything else but the insert and dangler, and they have adjustable/removable flaps. I have fitted mine with a multitool and a torch on the right side and nothing on the left (solely because i don't have anything to put in there yet). The central utility pouch has a few organizer pockets and bands to keep items where they are supposed to, it has a nylon ring to attach keys, a mesh internal zip pocket and an external one as well (they're separate). On the bottom there are three PALS attachment points, so you can secure a CAT there (no, not the one that meows and purrs, the one that saves your life if you severe your arm) or glowsticks or literally whatever. The dangler pouch is a bit weird, it's shaped in order to open like a clamshell, the bottom is narrow while the top is twice the size. internally it has velcro on both sides, so you can attach whatever you want. i personally use it for a small iFAK and bbs. The pouch is removable and unveils a row of MOLLE to which you can attach other pouches according to your needs. The rig can be strapped to a plate carrier with swift clips, although the G hook on the bottom requires you to still use the waist strap (or you can be a man and modify one of the clips to accept G hooks) I picked it up in A-Tacs iX for 2 main reasons: 1) there were none left here in Italy apart from black and Pencott variants 2) my team camo is A-Tacs FG, i'm planning to get a set of A-Tacs AU and the iX variant is supposed to be the Digital Concealement Systems "multicam" I got to use it last sunday, although we haven't played much due to the heavy rain/snow downpour. nonetheless i had the chance to have it on in an active environment, running, sneaking, laying prone and i have to say, it's really great! it doesn't impede movement at all, and my main concern, the dangler pouch, didn't really move at all despite being full of first aid stuff and a bag of around 2000 bbs. magazine extraction is quick, retention is good even without using the elastic bands, although the 2 middle pouches are not as tight as the external ones, so keep that in mind if you're jumping around trying to be a Novritsch wannabe or simply speedsofting, there's a slight chance of those mags coming loose and flying around. Magazine index isn't intuitive and the middle mag pouch can be a bitch to put mags back in in a hurry, i suggest to use some sort of dump pouch. As you can see i used the shoulder PALS to attach my PTT, you can attach torches, knives, zip ties, your grandma there. Overall rating: 9.5/10, the only reason why it's not getting a 10 is that i cannot fit the radio in the right mag pouch. but that's just me being a crybaby.
  12. I run a belt setup for longer games, found it doesn't restrict my breathing like a chest rig does when climbing steep hills or hiking many kilometres. Plus it's velcro lined so it locks onto my trousers preventing any shifting. It's based on the Templars Gear PT-4, pouches are a mix of Templars Gear, Helikon and Baribal. Here's a picture of me wearing the thing along with a 15l backpack at October's National Finals, 4 rifle mags, two small utility pouches and a larger one at the back, GPS pouch and a dump. I'm now considering building a second "speedsoft style" belt, much lighter with just 4x rifle mags and a dump pouch, will probably use a HSGI belt instead of a PT-4.
  13. As well as airsoft I've applied my irl experience to this, nearly 40 years ago we didn't have plate carriers, it was 58 pattern, essentially belt & braces kit, but the materials were heavy & got heavier when wet, so I remember switching to belt kit, mainly yank equipment, when ever I could get away with it, army rules & regs etc meant anything involving above platoon or maybe company level would get you a bollocking or worse. Back then the belts weren't padded, but I had a waist, & blousing your smock gave you a bit of padding to stop things rubbing, assuming you weren't overloading your belt order. Fast forward to when I started airsofting, PC was one of my first purchases, but I soon realised that unless your fitter than a butchers dog, wrapping your core in all that heavy duty nylon/corduroy will soon have you sweating like Jimmy Saville in an orphanage, plus all that molle MUST be filled, it's the law, so i soon changed to chest rig, type with an open back & not too much coverage on the front, bulle mle remains my favourite, although I've got plenty of others. Still trying to get back in to belt rigs but middle age spread has meant I've lost a defined waist, so unless I run it super tight (which aggravates my dodgy lower back) it will slip down a bit. Alternatively, grab bags, or looking at helikon tmr etc could be a consideration, smaller rigs will force you to reconsider what you carry in game, which in turn should alleviate some of the pressure on you back. IMHO?
  14. New rig suggestions?

Ideally something that complements my helikon tmr and smersh.

No plate carriers, I don't like them.

      Belt order ?
not a secondary set up but a proper belt kit , wide padded belt , all the pouches needed and either a yoke or braces to spread the load through your shoulders as well .

      Skara

Mhm, I think it would be redundant with the smersh.

  15. New helikon Competition pouches arrived.

Holy shit batman the retention is fucking unreal ?

Grippy liner, similar to the one in WAS pouches. I expect it to wear out eventually, but the pouches still have two more retention "systems" in form of traditional bungee top and an adjustable shock cord going through the middle section of the pouch.

All in all, for €18 per pouch, they are really, really well made!!

I also got two pistol pouches but can't test them because I forgot my pistol mags at home -.- but they're basically the same thing, without the top bungee, scaled down.

I'll try and get sum pics

      Lozart

I just looked them up on the Helikon site.

I take it these are stand alone pouches rather than the inserts?

    4. Skara

      Skara

      Yep they are standalone pouches

  16. Classic Army MP5A5SD. Already sent off to be reshimmed and upgraded. I also managed to break the selector straight away... But it's fine because I ordered a replacement Classic Army A2 lower receiver (I always wanted an A2 but can't find them anywhere for sale) Also bought some Additional High Cap Mags (Cyma), Viper VX SMG Inserts for the Utility rig, a Helikon CPU Shirt, Wings for the Viper Utility rig so I can attach molle Pistol pouch and Radio pouch.
  17. May be a bit late but these are worlds ahead of Viper in build quality and allow you to use molle to expand them. https://www.helikon-tex.com/en_eur/kk-ccr-cd-chicom-chest-rig.html OR https://www.helikon-tex.com/en_eur/kk-tmr-cd-training-mini-rig-tmr.html The other option is if you like the VX but want more solidity look at the Spiritus micro mk4 or mk5 chest rig. Mk4 is what the VX was cloned from but its made for real steel use and the price reflects that. On the plus side its a highly modular system and you can probably just replace the bits that are worn out.
  18. Just picked up two Helikon Tex GPS pouches, one in Ral 7013 and one in DNC. Then realized Skirmshop had some of the newer TTI parts in stock so I bought: 2x TTI Npas valves for the AAP-01; 2x TTI AAP-01 piston heads; 2x CowCow firing pin lock thingies; 1x TTI fixed Glock outer barrel (14mm CCW thread).
  19. Necro, but I don't care ❤️ https://www.helikon-tex.com/en_eur/ku-shj-tr-squall-hardshell-jacket-torrentstretch.html This just popped on the Helikon website, they claim 30k/30k which seems almost too good to be true, and the €220 price tag means I won't lose too much money if it's crap. (if it's good, I'm buying two)
  20. Helikon do nearly all sizes in their MBDU style , flat colours around £60 , Multicam goes up to around £100 I think . These are decent quality . if you want “combat” as in with knee pads then I’d just set up a search on eBay and hold out for second hand Crye 36L or similar .
  21. cant believe how well Viper did in the AI awards this year against WAS and Helikon.....and i didnt win anything again! haha:lol:
