    What paint to use

Way too much effort to take the gearbox and barrel out! Stuff a big ball of newspaper up the magwell, tape off the muzzle and make sure the dust cover is closed and you'll be fine.   Make sure you move the selector switch between coats too, or you'll end up with a patch with no paint on it.

    Do I need a Bergen

I've been playing MILSIM games for about 7 years now and in that time I've only been to 2 that absolutely required a bergen.  Most of the time you end up living in a FOB style setup and having all your stuff there for the whole weekend.  99% of the time I take a big holdall with my stuff in it...

Night Vision - Gen 1 worth it or not?

US prices... About $7-8k depending upon the spec of the PVS14.  UK/EU prices, probably closer to £10k, unless you can snag a mega bargain somewhere.  The AN/PAS29 is the expensive part, you can get a reasonable PVS14 these days for £2-3k

Night Vision - Gen 1 worth it or not?

There's bits of the old nuclear bunker complex that F&O do games in where I've completely blacked out my NODs and had to use IR, a couple of times in super dense woodland on a dark night I've used a bit of illumination to make the floor a bit clearer too.   Couple of guys I know hired some...

Night Vision - Gen 1 worth it or not?

I stand by gen1 being useless, if you're looking at going in at the sub £1000 point then you're better off saving your money and buying a decent torch instead.

Night Vision - Gen 1 worth it or not?

No head mounted SWIR solutions exist, additionally there is a short delay from image processing because it's a digital system.  If you like motion sickness from walking around, try using digital night vision.

Night Vision - Gen 1 worth it or not?

Gen1 is largely useless for anything other than standing still and spotting at reasonably short distances.  If you're looking at NODs to take to a milsim game absolutely do not take gen1, all of the other night vision users will insist on you turning off your illuminator which will render you...

    Custom systema ptw building

PTWs are fickle beasts, Ive never known anyone to put one together themselves and have it work as advertised.   Tackleberry is your man, you can find him on Facebook in the Systema PTW Owners Group, though as with all things PTW, it's expensive! As for the recoil PTW, I really wouldn't bother...

    Machine guns

One of the most retarded things I've read on here for a while.   Should a 9mm pistol replica should have a power limit 1/3 that of a 5.56mm rifle replica?

Surplus gear used in Airsoft? ?

MTP can be bought pretty cheaply as surplus gear. I don't understand.

    Load-Out / Loadout Picture topic

I'll bite, wtf are you wearing NODs during the day?

WE Scar-L CQC AEG - Single shot stuck on full auto?

It's just a V2 gearbox, either your selector plate or cut off lever is broken.

    Ex-Forces Turned TV/Social Media Personalities

I've no issue with it, clearly none of the more prominent ones these days are breaking the Official Secrets Act (they'd get nicked if they did) and so they're selling stories/sharing their experiences and people are paying them. Fair play! People like Ant Middleton have taken it further and...

You unclip the harness and then clip it on to the plate carrier?  It's not a massive task

Can Airsoft translate to real firearm skill?

Travis Haley certainly seems to think it can be of use;  If you're unaware of who Travis Haley is, look him up, he's about as credible as it's possible to be when it comes to doing cool shit in dangerous places.  His point of view however is that Airsoft guns can be used for safe, cheap...

    Using a 45-degree angled scope - ?

Won't make any difference at all, though as mentioned it will make zeroing the sight a bit of a chore as to move the dot left or right you'll need to alter both elevation and windage.

Comparing personal chrono with site chrono.

I've had this a couple of times with shitty chronos being operated by idiots who have no idea how they work.  Went to a site near bristol a couple of years back with a stock TM that was somehow doing 550fps with .25g BBs.... or was it?  Of course it wasn't, the marshal had the chrono set up with...
