  • About Hobbyking - I've heard a lot of cases where they don't add the UKARA number on the package but they've been delivered. How risky is it? Any misfortunes?

Yeah I've heard that RIFs coming into the country should have the number on just in case. I'd like to order from there but just not too sure how it'll go if they don't put it there

    Sacarathe
Actually, rather than "just in case", its a requirement, at least, if that is your only way of proving a defence, but, it's supposedly only a 'requirement' insofar as maintaining expediency.

Customs should, if seizing the package, contact you requesting the same information.

I tried to buy of them recently, they wouldn't ship a black WE makarov to the UK, but would ship the silver one. Ridiculous

Anyone here installed Windows OS from an external hard drive?

probably another setting in bios - usb compatibility mode

Legacy support enable but a bitch to enter bios to change if usb keyboard not recognised like you say

Years ago the pc funny was:

turn on pc with no keyboard attached and it halts saying:

    KEYBOARD ERROR

    press F1 to resume

WTF - how the f*ck do I press an imaginary F1 key ffs

Ah, PCs and laptops have never been straight forward for me :) Always a problem... Just really hope this PS/2 adapter works. Wish there was another way to access the bios! Or change the boot order via command prompt...

Do you need UKARA to import a complete airsoft M4 body from HK? A mate of mine has just asked me and I have no idea to be honest, so looking for an answer here

    S
    Sitting Duck
I'd say no in parts - ie gearbox out of receiver....

Possible questions if complete fitted with pistol grip. Some HK will sell ya guns shipped in two pieces a week apart but dunno the success rate of getting through ok without raising suspicion or duty

    Lozart
    Lozart
You only need UKARA if you're importing a whole RIF. Granted people at customs might get a bit shirty of you get two packages from the same place with half a gun in each but if it's just the body kit then you should be fine.

    MILITATED
    MILITATED
Yeah he just wants the body of it. It does have the pistol grip and gearbox inside though. All it needs to be full are barrels, handguard, stock and a battery to be honest

Would a 5KU Fighting Cat style front end fit a G&G TR4? A friend is thinking of getting one. The 5KU kit says TM compatible, so would it be compatible with G&G? I know G&Ps have different outer barrels and stuff which is why I ask

    MILITATED
    MILITATED
Just in case TM have any different parts like the outer barrel which aren't compatible with G&G

Can anyone tell me if this black bit can be removed from a gearbox without causing any problems, and what is it? The bit in the red circle. Only thing preventing the gearbox from going into my gun. http://imgur.com/R2MtZA6

it's a part for the fake bolt hold open, it's connected to the bolt release on the receiver.

What box are you fitting into what receiver?

    MILITATED
    MILITATED
The idea was to fit a specna arms box into a King Arms BW15 receiver. Had to file those protruding bits that held the fake bolt thing for it to fit, but the specna shell doesn't have the protruding bit on the top for the charging handle to latch on to. Eventually ended up mixing the specna and king arms gearbox internals together inside the king arms shell. Turned out to be a pain but it is all in. Just wish I could test it, but I don't have a mini tamiya battery! (They're all...

    ...They're all deans

How on earth do you separate deans connectors?

Just received a 16mm to 14mm thread adapter and it doesn't fit my 16mm or 14mm threads! What a load of shite

    MILITATED

Messaged him about it and the response was "China tolerances no good"... Anyway, he said he send the payment back regardless

    S
    Sitting Duck
if you get half of it back and bin it - it is still better than having to post it back for full refund.

Think they know that - any partial or full refund is a touch on small poxy bits like that. the fun of global shopping

Ah the adapter came from 'Matrix CNC' from the UK on eBay - just a heads up in case you ever come across them. As I said, got the Hephaestus one on which allowed me to put my ridiculously long suppressor on there :D funnily enough, it is marked .45 ACP (written CAP on the suppressor...) which matches the Vector :) just need some reliable iron sights or/and an optic for it now

Anyone know of a 8.4v NiMH battery that can fit a standard M4 buffer tube and is fairly inexpensive?

    S
    Sitting Duck
8.4v nimah's go in AK dust cover or hammered in a mp5k, some are bloody tight fit in Galaxy mp5k.

    S
    Sitting Duck
Forget hpa tank on ya back. Ibjust strap a car battery on my back instead and hose away until gun breaks (15 mins usually)

    MILITATED
    MILITATED
LOL well I just need to put it in a SOCOM stock for the M4 :) Gotta test the gun. Think the battery I saw was 10cm in length, 2cm wide and 1.3cm high, which will fit :)

Silicone oil spray or just silicone oil in a bottle?

    S
    Sitting Duck
oil in a bottle would probably work out cheaper....

just a smidge on a rag wiped over any areas makes it slippery like oil on black ice.

if used on barrel use very very very little squeezed out almost dry and keep well away from bucking. awsome to polish cylindersoak o-ring etc... - just no good on buckings

Great :) the gun is definitely overdue for some maintainence!

After seeing a Facebook page get happy over a 70mph Nerf gun, I decided to convert my fps into mph, turned out to be around 240mph! Didn't expect that

    MILITATED
    MILITATED
Never really thought of it in MPH, but that is bloody fast

KWA/PTS Masada stock, is 313MPH, with npas is set to 228MPH :P

Of course a bloody BB rebounds and hits my TV... Well, that isn't usable any more

It was a 34" Bush one so not too big of a loss, but still a pain in the ass. Happy I didn't shoot the 50" one in the living room though! That would have put me in a very bad situation. Tell you what though, those TM glocks sure do make a dramatic impact!

Ah yes, that is the video that popped into my mind instantly and I must say, I felt like a right bellend. On the bright side, it was time for a new TV sometime soon for my room anyway! On the not so bright...

    MILITATED
    MILITATED
...side, I'm broke! Damn it. Well lads, let this be a lesson to not be a bellend and underestimate the bouncing capabilities of a BB from a ridiculous angle.

Anyone recommend a set of iron sights (rail mounted)? Not looking to break the bank though!

Is there a reason why I am always seeing people selling L85s? Not that I'd ever ( EVER) want one, but there seems to be a lot of them being sold. Any particular reasons?

    MILITATED
    MILITATED
The look of that gun has never really appealed to me to be honest! What is the heaviest point of it?

    BBrotherwood
    BBrotherwood
For the same reason lots of people sell M4s. Lots of people buy an L85 and suffer from ooh shiney syndrome and go for something else later on. Its a popular replica so your naturally going to see it for sell more.

    Avionyx
    Avionyx
I think it's something that suits a particular style of play/player.

The weight and firing position of the gun don't suit everyone and I think people don't always take that into consideration before buying.

I personally find M4's very uncomfortable to use yet my G&G L85 just seems to fit well.

I suspect for those people that are used to using an M4 or similar type of stance they may find the L85 strange and as such it could negatively af...

Does anyone have a Glock hammer? The one in mine has broken and I desperately need one! Thanks

Needs to be Marui compatible by the way

Buying a Vector tomorrow from a guy that happens to live on the same (long) road as me! Sounds like it needs a bit of attention, but it'll be fine. Very happy

Might be able to get the other mags. Someone offered on my TM G18C but I have to wait until the morning to talk to him about it. If it sells, then I will have the Vector and a few mags! Also a LaRue 12" M4 rail maybe

well best of luck with it all if i ever get round to passing bike test i may get round to buying mp7 or ump 45 gbb XD

If I didn't get a Vector, I'd definitely have went for the MP7. I just like SMGs that look completely different with an extended mag (such as the Vector/MP7)

Anyone interested in a M2000 RDS + 3x magnifier (both from airsoftworld) for £55? Need money ASAP! M2000 alone as £45 new

It seems that after you enlighten people to the average sale price of a gun (when they're trying to get twice as much), they tend to act extra childish. Who is going to pay £160 for the cheapest combat machine with barely anything else with it?
