I'm always worried about that happening.  What's to stop someone signing for you even without this covid crap.

Eugh.. that sucks dude. The new RM rules are that anything bigger than a letter box hole will be left on the front door step... great announcement; the scumbags will be out in droves, probably tailing the RM vans!

Was the item small enough to fit through the letterbox?  Current guidelines allow postmen to sign for the package only when they have confirmed the identity of the person.  System sucks for sure.  They should be asking for ID if they cannot identify the correct house.

Royal Mail will have the GPS co-ordinates of where he signed it so should be able to track it down if it went to another house.  Contact Royal Mail support and explain the situation.  Ask SurplueStore if they have a picture of the package.  I take pictures of every single package before I send it out as a pre-caution, then tomorrow try and chat to your local postie, show him a picture of the package. SurplueStore can also try contacting RM business support.

What annoys me is that the technology has been around for years to avoid problems like this and yet RM still won't implement it.  A simple photo of the persons front door when posting signed-for packages would solve this issue.  DPD do this

Update: It was DHL who delivered. They sent me a photo of them delivering it to a neighbour a number of doors away from me. Just leaving it on their front door. Clearly the courier didnt have time to walk another couple of houses down to leave it at the correct house.

I went to go retrieve it only to be confronted with a sign saying to delivery companies not to deliver to the wrong house. I knocked, there were clearly people in as I heard voices, but no one answered... Will try again tomorrow.

A bit crap considering we are supposed to be socially distancing, but now I have to go to a neighbour...

DPD are normally on the ball and the photo of the door is a nice touch.  Glad you tracked it down ok.  Sucks that your neighbours couldn't even be bothered to come to a window and help you out - great community spirit eh ?

@ak2m4 Just tried knocking again and no answer still. I thought we were all meant to stay indoors? Ha :) I want my Maple Leaf 510mm Crazy Jet, SHS G36 Selector and AP G36 Air nozzle :(

The lady dropped it around to the house. The parcel was opened and she claimed the "Dog" got to it...

At least all the items are safe and sound! :D
