I hear they're very good with only a few minor tweaks.

NPAS and the RA Tech steel bolt upgrade and you're golden as far as I can see.

Best bet would be to get Iain from Milspec Solutions on the phone, he knows all the ins and outs and can sell you one + parts with a warranty and everything.

I'm thinking of going the same way, I just can't decide what I want... L85, AK PMC, or M4 CQB? Decisions decisions.

Any but the ak, Ed, its horrible :P

Im considering getting a WE AR as well, got the money lined up, just deciding what I actually want :P

definitely speak to either milspec or just cause though, both know their stuff about the WE stuff.

Cheers guys, will look into contacting him. Although, I'm really annoyed that I could have bought one for £260 (£120 discount) from AW back in January, when they had them on sale... -_-

I'll be honest, this will be more of a project gun/plinker, not a serious skirmisher, so I'm won't be too peeved if it needs a few mods, or I need to work on it over time. BUT - I do want it to work out of the box (at least as a plinker) - I remember some of the guns from t...

*ahem*

some of the guns from the initial batch were completely useless. Just want to know if the original problems (bits falling off or just not working) are still there.

I take it you've not seen the recent topic about reviews in the general section, sp00n? Lol.

Best place to read about it is in the review section of ZeroIn, a guy called Tisane started it and now it's about 300 posts long or something crazy.

Seems that the biggest issue with the first lot was with the right side bolt lock falling off right out of the box. It's a non-functional piece anyway, so some glue'll sort it, or melting plastic on it to weld it in place...

Aside from that the recoil springs would deform the bolt and shrink it around the recoil rods, to the point where it would grip them and jam the gun. People would file the holes bigger, but it wasn't something they could do forever. So they got the steel bolt so the metal didn't deform as easily.

Next thing to reinforce is the trigger, 'cos WE triggers are notoriously shit and aside from that you're good to go, there's not really much else to it.

Assuming the trigger system is the m4 style one like most of their other guns, a CWI set would fit nicely.

There's a 10 page thread on arnies too- worth a check

Yeah, they're all the same Marcus, same trigger in every rifle they do, they just adapt the bits that latch onto the inside of the gun/how it meets the actual trigger etc.

In the L85 it's literally a drop in M4 trigger set if I remember correctly, there's just a big-ass metal arm connecting it to the mechanism at the back.
