If you can save for a gen 2 unit it'll be better, gen 1 with illumination is better than nothing, but not much better.

@Adolf Hamster how much is gen2 usually?

Some digital nightvision is ok i have a pulsar n550 and with a decent ir illuminator it is usable at airsoft ranges.  I also have a sm3s2dn day/night gen2+ scope which is clearer but with the digital scope you don`t have to worry about torches & other lights etc damaging your scope.

@you can`t shoot me im looking for one that i would be able to mount on my helmet for night milsims/games.
