Was it a proper one? 'Cos they're obscenely hard to control, I generally consider myself a pretty decent pilot, but I'm convinced real choppers must be at least 50 times easier to fly than RC ones.
That is true ed, however its like driving a car, there are outside influences (roads other cars etc etc), but the basic controls are pretty similar from car to car.
But there's no sensation of control with an RC model, since you're not sat in it. So I wouldn't really say they were comparable. It's more like playing a game on the Xbox or something. A lot of people can't play driving games because it seems alien to them to turn but not feel anything forces acting on them. My dad in particular, he just can't do driving games lol, always moans it because he can't feel the car.
exactly what ive always thought! Ive had a shot of some decent rc planes before and its fair to say i was a pretty crap pilot but in the ATC we do glider flying every so often and i must say that that is wayyyy more easier lol.
I suppose the size also has quite an effect on stability, because if the plane was say a 1/100 scale or something would that mean that a 10mph wind would be like 100mph for it or are my just making up crap? lol
I was using driving as a comparable example, as its the closest thing i could think off at that time. in any case i stick by my original statement, as you have to input just the right amount of movement on the controls to achieve a stable flight, no sudden jerky moves etc etc. If you don't believe me ask when you go.
