go for it bro, but going past 40mb is a waste imho. going from 3mb-40mb was amazing but 40+ is only if you torrent regularly or have insane needs.
currently at 7 mbps according to ookla but when I'm actually downloading stuff I usually get about 800 kbps
was going to say i may have to send BT a thank you package for the free upgrade XD beats my brothers virgin internet
speedtest is very accurate i get something like 40megaBITS per second which is 4megaBYTES per second in real downloads. 7MegaBITS is a bit 0.7-0.8megaBYTES (800kbps). it's just ISP's use the marketing term, of megabits to inflate there numbers, but the internet uses bytes.
ok not as free as i thought..i've been getting charged 5 pounds a month on BT sports online..something i've never EVER asked for
Ummm lol no. There are 8 bits in a byte. If it displays 40 Mbps then your download is 5 MBps. Your 800 kbps makes sense since 7 divided by 8 is roughly 800-900 (sh*t fluctuates a lot). I don't care what you say; there are 8 bits in a byte.
