I thought I'd hate it and I bought it as a final purchase in the last steam summer sale for about £2. I ended up playing more than any game I've ever bought. Absolutely amazing.

i'd need m&b and warband is just the expansion right? about £4 cheap as hell. should i play mods when starting or vanilla/good guides to begin with (will play in summer not now)

Warband is a standalone expansion. You don't need Napoleonic Warfare to play it.
