Do you still with your laptop on your lap ? if so, Don't. your covering the fans up. Also you can buy a laptop fan board which will cool your laptop down. failing those two you'll need to replace the fan

Some internal fans are easier to replace than others, some can get to them when you pop mem stick cover. New thermal paste perhaps mx-2 is one of best cost effective ones than go silly on Gelid paste

So what should I do? I've tried blowing it to get dust out and left it to cool but when I switched it back on, same error message.

Whuuuuuuttt. I found a HP forum and one of the solutions was use a pin and push the fan...did it and now it's working....hmmmm... Too scared to play on steam though lol

But I can see that there is a huge build up of dust in there. Should I buy one of those compressed air thingies that blow air into it to free the thing of dust?

Hoover ???

Acer netbook has a sticky fan, normally I just bash the sod and it works, but just get hoover out and suck da crap out throw vents

and just see how it goes, sure there some temp apps out there - I used to use Everest thingy to look up loads of info
