Before you buy one, have you tried taking apart and cleaning your laptops fan? There will most likely be a huge block of dust and once you pull it out, games should run fine.

yes. anything to dislodge dust. you also tried raising it to inmcrease lower airflow? put it on a book at the back edge of the laptop

The really hot part you are feeling is the CPU which unfortunetly does not get very good airflow to it, even working at school unless I propped it up I could frie eggs with it.

Yeah I have a hp pavilion g series and its always the far left bit thats hot.

I have two books next to each other leaving the bit on the far left open to air flow.

Yh it does - I only used the fans when I was gaming but when i was just watching stuff or working it made a big difference to the airflow. Its also handy for taking the laptop to bed :)
