Yeah I have Insurgency too and would recommend. Red Orchestra is a similarly realistic shooter but WW2 setting. What about Arma II as well?

Also, CS:GO, isn't an easy game, if you don't have relatively ok reaction and more importantly, good aim, you'll get mauled.

Erm im out of touch in terms of mods - especially for mutliplayer. The American War of Indepence singleplayer mod is good fun and very indepth.
