really they were the ones i was trying to avoid :L i dont see myself using o-rings any bigger than a 2.5 or 3mm so they'd be a waste. thanks for the input though :)

Except that they're neoprene not sorbothane. I wouldn't like to vouch for the lifespan of one of those in a gearbox.

Better than std material used in many cyl heads I've found.

I wouldn't like to vouch for nothing - no AOE and go with a thin stock pad. Snapped pick up and increased risk of cracking

Not sure what your point is. Correcting AoE is always going to be better than not bothering. Sorbothane is designed for shock absorption applications, neoprene isn't. Having your AoE correction fall apart in your cylinder while you're using the gun surely isn't worth the couple of quid you save by not buying a decent pad?

AOE fall apart in cylinder ???

you gotta be joking - they stick like $hit to a blanket if the surface is clean when scorrecting AOE. True Sorbo pads are often using both neo & sorbo combined.

The ONLY time AOE has come adrift was when the std base rubber came away from head. The neoprene was STILL attached it was the stock rubber failed on head. Superglue fuses rubber if it contains cyanoacrylate

It happens.

Mostly to people that think a bit of mousemat/shoe insole is "good enough". Airlab sorbo pads have a hard plastic buffer to protect the sorbo, some as you say have a neoprene pad attached to the sorbothane. In both cases the sorbothane acts as the shock absorber the other part acts to increase durability and prevent the sorbothane from tearing. Adding neoprene washers to a sorbothane pad does not mean that the neoprene is part of the shock absorption or that it is an...

agreed sorbo absorbs better.

But neo does help - admit it isn't as good but certainly better than leaving it as stock and no AOE corrected.

Soz I should not refer to them as sorbo pads, perhaps I should be careful as to my recommendations in future
