Having a bolt action rifle is fine as a primary, its how you play. being a bolt action, you're at a massive disadvantage unless you spent a lot of time and money upgrading the gun to get the best range and consistency. A lot of people use a 350 bolt action rifle and rely more on stealth and tactics.

What about an ICS M1 Garand? WW2 era but with the perks of standing half a chance at a normal skirmish.

I've been lucky enough to see an ICS Garand in the field, very nice guns

would it be deemed as a dmr?

im just bored over modern guns and the sound and inconsistency of electric motors

There full auto capable so nope.

I personally have 2 x M700 which are HPA, I like them a lot, ones set to 500FPS and the others 350FPS. I can switch styles between recon and long distance sniping. It's a different style of play, but rewarding none the less
