Aye Cav, I'm always after any excuse for a suit and tie. Always have my shoes immaculate too so I'll have no issues there ;) Thank you for the luck guys! It's just part time at Mcdonalds, mainly for Christmas Presents, after christmas all money will be going towards getting my mother out of this damp ridden hovel!

It'll be good experience too, show's I've done something whilst at Sixthform and not just sat on my arse. Will be hopefully doing a history degree after this, then into the Army or Marines as an officer ( fingers crossed)

Good luck with the History degree, something I've always fancied doing myself! And with your military ambitions, you'll have plenty of time at Uni to suss out what you want to do and which suits you best

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I originally planned to do an engineering degree Cav, followed my heart rather than my brain at As level however and dropped Physics and Maths in favor of History and Politics. Still do product design however so a foundation degree could be a possibility I suppose. I'm not 100% on uni, more want to go for the sake of being able to say I accomplished it - Would you recommend it over applying straight from sixth-form to be an officer? ( I believe you worked...

at Sandhurst, my apologies if I've confused you with someone else)

Alternatively I was considering joining as a Soldier and working my way up - I'm torn between what would be best.

+1 for the above.

Does being an officer limit what you can go on to do?

I've never read one kiwi, always loved history and always wanted to join the forces, pure coeincidence lol. Unless he studied celtic or Gaelic history also , in which case something bizarre is going on

Yes Ted, I was an instr at RMAS, If you want a Commission in any service, I would recommend Uni and a degree, it doesn't really matter what its in. 85% of OCdts were Grads when I was there. You can learn a lot more about what it all entails while at Uni in the UOTC. An officer's career while be a mix of Regt'l duty and staff jobs, but you can do so many that its virtually limitless! Specialisations could be aircrew or SF. For ORs youre looking at Regtl duty, maybe training job...

... training jobs like I did, or other stuff like aircrew or SF, PM me if you have more questions

Also, Masters Degrees do wonders. Especially when its a field that the forces are in dire need of. Hence why me getting my MSc in Cybersecurity earlier this year has proved rather useful.

Cheers Lads, I will PM at some point Cav. I'll look into what other degree's my A levels could possibly lead to. I passed the interview! Trial next week :)
