It's a drop in unit. All the goodness of a GBBR with the reliability and ammo of an AEG. Runs off HPA so you can adjust the FPS to whatever your needs require.
Get the WE, HPA in my opinion is a step backwards. Yes they're technically very good but having to have a hose coming from your gun for me is a big turn off. Dedsec, a p* isn't very much like a gbbr, no recoil or realism features
HPA is the way forward I've had a WE GBBR 416and wasn't keen on it at all even more so when the mags emptied the gas, I've now moved into the Wolverine SMP unit and it's excellent in any weather.
I mean if you just want something to shoot well then they're very good, I don't deny it but they're definitley not all the goodness of a gbbr, they lack all the pros of a gbbr. They do though gain on the performance side of things, just down to what you look for in a gun, as I say I see losing realism as a step backwards, others will see it as something they can live with.
It's a matter of opinion. Some despise the hose such as yourself, others don't mind it. I personally do not mind it, if I get the performance of an AEG, with the feeling of a GBBR, then so be it. I don't understand what you say about there being no realism, no recoil? You must of used HPA with a very low PSI or just a bad gun for it to be used in because my squad members HK416 is rigged to HPA and it kicks harder than any WE rifle except the AK's.
Are you sure it's not a daytonagun, hpa tapped gbbr or something? I'm pretty sure polar star don't do any recoil products. By no realism i meant exactly that, not recoil, bolt lock function, wrong dimensions (a minor one, im not too fussed about it but you certainly feel the difference)
I mean end of the day all a polar star does is open and close a valve letting air out, there's nothing in the system to provide recoil as far as I can see anyway?
He uses a version 2 gearbox style fusion engine V3 I believe and has it set up to be 348 FPS exact. The HK416 was a WE so it already had a bolt lock feature which, after modifications he made it so that the bolt still locks to the rear when the changing handle is pulled back. Sounds better than any AEG bolt.
The body is full steel, the whole rifle is only 70 - 80ish grams off the weight of a real steel without ammunition. The HPA gives an instant trigger response and kicks very nic...
Mine kicks well, considering I've changed it from a standard AEG to an SMP the performance and recoil is excellent. As a I I've had a GBBR 416 and whilst it was great it certainly didn't make me smile like the SMP does and the hose I don't even notice it to be far have a control line cover over it so feels like a sling in a certain fashion
Interesting, will have to have a look into it then, didn't realise they could have a bolt lock either, must be a newer feature added since I looked into them. The hose is more an aesthetic thing for me Qlimax
