Depends a lot on the site. In corridors etc. a non player marshall gets in the way.

Especially when they abuse it. I've seen a player marshal walking down the middle of a game in progress, gun slung, hands in pockets so you assume he's on his way to sort out a broken gun or speak to another marshal. Only to find that once he's behind your team he opens fire from behind and takes everyone out. His excuse being that "no one shot me" so it's a legitimate tactic. OK, it might be covered by the rules (he wasn't hit) but it's not really in the s...

I'd just use that as an excuse to shoot him in the soft spots the second anything he's doing could be misconstrued.

He'd learn not to do it eventually.

Yes - that was the general advice I was given by another marshal when I complained. But what does that lead to - light up every marshal you see just in case, then perhaps any dead player you see just in case they're faking it too? It's supposed to be a game based on honour - afraid I see tactics like that as cheating.
