This'll sound daft but put an elastic band over the head of the screw, then try to unscrew it (so the elastic band is between the screw and the driver) - the extra grip may work. Alternatively, panic and freak the f**k out?
If the screw thread itself has stripped, if you have a rare earth magnet or something of similar strength, use that to try and tease the screw out far enough that you can get pliers round it...OR, the only other serious option would involve either drills or hammers - neither of which are great for the Gearbox, so you may just want to PANIC AND FREAK THE F**K OUT!!!!!
If you can't panic and none of your wiley engineering magic works, the only option left is to call your mum and get her to sort it (true fact: mums can fix ANYTHING, except DVD players).
N.B: I refuse to be held responsible if anyone calls their mum for minor jobs and finds that she's rearranged your entire house/room/flat 'her way' - tidying and compulsive organization is mandatory for 80% of all mothers over the age of 21.
My sincerest apologies! In that case, the best bet would be to approach someone you know who is called 'Dave'. Everyone knows a 'Dave' and it is a well regarded fact that these mythical 'Dave' creatures can pretty much do everything.
Samurai - techy guru, but if shim too tightly it normally justs sticks open and spring/gears fall backwards - but I'm a noob seek pro advice and gonna need to get that last screw out & replace all screws - wanky torx
I've used SHS gears before, all with stock AR latches with no issues. AR latch lock is usually not affected by shimming,I've cocked up plenty and never had jams.
Whenever I've had screws get stuck, I've used a dremel to cut a flat groove through the screw head, and then just unscrewed it with a standard flat head screw driver.
You get the occasional screw that's in an awkward place and that method can't be done... Like pistol grip screws... *shudder* but for a gearbox it ought to be easily doable.
