No but I was heading down there next month, it's only 10 mins or so from my house, that's a little worrying though. The guy who got shot is a bellend so I can't say I feel sorry for him but it's definitely a safety concern.
"The guy who got shot is a bellend so I can't say I feel sorry for him" what the hell has that got to do with anything? It's irrelevant who the bloke is what he's like, surely?
The thing is that a lot depends on how it hit, how far from etc. It does certainly look very bad but often the worst looking ones can be from normal fps guns and being unfortunate with where or how you're hit.
I think they'll certainly tighten up their chrono-ing though and hopefully do random checks throughout the day, loads of sites say they do but I'm yet to actually see it other than a couple of times on gbbrs.
Lozart, M_P just said he didnt feel sorry for the chap particularily, not that the wound or total failure of safe practices was justified. As for people choosing to avoid the place, it may be worth keeping an eye on discussion to see what if anything the organisers have to say! Misunderstandings do happen but it pays to be informed!
Unleas they guy bruises very easily then i wouldnt think point blank 350fps would cause that damage. I got spray with a m249 almost point blank and only had small bruises.
I've had 4 like that, two to the forehead that drew blood, 2 weeks apart exactly the same spot. One to my left index finger just back from the nail bed and one to my right forearm. In three cases they were from guns that passed chrono in the morning fine, at reasonable ranges. The one to my finger which is the one that hurt the most was a CO2 pistol that someone begged to get through chrono having fired 450fps, he was allowed on the assumption he would fire a few shots to lower the pressure.
